Salamander – Planning a kitchen renovation? Make sure the pressure is on!

W

hilst you are in the process of your next kitchen refurbishment, why

not consider improving the water pressure? No matter how aesthetically pleasing the new-

look kitchen may be, without fitting an adequate water boosting solution, there’s a strong chance the household may struggle with low water pressure - both in the kitchen and other outlets around the home. However, there are simple and effective

solutions available. Salamander Pumps, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of water boosting solutions, has created a number of products to boost mains water pressure and flow, to ensure that any new kitchen is complete with consistent, strong flowing taps, dishwashers, and other outlets.

The causes of low water pressure, and how to fix it Low water pressure in a home can be caused by a variety of factors – from a home’s plumbing system, to the time-of-day members of the household are turning on the taps. Thankfully, if you are looking to boost mains water pressure via your combi boiler, Salamander Pumps has products to provide the solution. One of these products is Salamander Pumps’

WRAS approved, inline pump, HomeBoost, which can boost water flow to up to 12 litres per minute (l/min). The HomeBoost is intelligently designed to

monitor the water flow, ensuring it only kicks into action when called-upon. This means that if a home should experience a flow of 12l/min naturally, the pump will remain in standby. The HomeBoost is also one of the quieter

booster pumps on the market, and was awarded the Quiet Mark to reflect this. At only 46dBA, it will provide stronger flowing taps, powerful showers and quicker bathfill, whilst making significantly less noise than electric boiling kettles.

The cold mains water pipe is usually available in

the kitchen, quite often being the point of entry to the property, with easy access to the stop tap. This makes a kitchen renovation the perfect time to install a water boosting solution.

How to achieve more than 12l/min If you need more water flow than 12l/min, then an accumulator tank is a great solution for homes with an unvented hot water systems or larger combi-boilers. Accumulator tanks can offer more flow than an inline pump, delivering up to 36 litres per minute. Salamander has a range of AccuBoost tanks, ranging from 60 litres to 450 litres. A 60L model will fit into a standard 500mm

standard kitchen base unit. A 120L model will fit into a 500mm larder style kitchen unit and the 180L/300L model will fit into a 600mm larder style kitchen unit with the back removed - although the tanks don’t have to be situated in the kitchen.
