DESIGNER DESIGNER RANGES R A N G E S

Using Colour in the kitchen F

rom the ever popular white and light grey to softer greens, darker blues

and stronger aubergine hues there has to be a kitchen in every colour known to man, somewhere in the world! Here in the UK we may be slightly more

reserved and conservative in our kitchen colour choices but over the last 12 months we have seen demand for more “adventurous” colours on the increase. Whilst the more muted, pastel colours are still very popular and are perfect for a neutral base which is timeless (and can be accessorised with gorgeous colour pops) there is certainly a mood for braver, perhaps even more fashion-led colours. Where once here in the UK we would have played it safe and opted for white

or grey consumers are keen on trying something new; embracing rich primary colours, new shades of terracotta and even, dare I say it, pink! Colours can be mixed and matched by incorporating different shades and tones in different parts of the kitchen. And it doesn’t end with the colour either – finishes are now just as important as colour. Where wood would have always been the finish of choice there seems to be no end to the innovation in our industry, and I am sure there is much more to come Glass and Ceramic now firmly have their place in the kitchen finish “hall of fame”, and it is no surprise really when these materials offer so much in terms of durability, design scope and look, and are perfect for creating more complex shapes and layouts.

Mereway Kitchens – Over the Finish Line… M

ereway Kitchens strikes again by extending their award-winning

cosmopolitan style Q-Line range to include five brand new finishes which meet the minimal fuss, maximum impact criteria. The new Tempesta Ceramica and Diamante Ceramica, (pictured below) joins over forty Q-Line finishes. The new additions take the range to cutting-edge design limits and are set to be hugely popular amongst the already large numbers of Q-line advocates! The range offers European quality, look and

style married beautifully with UK manufacturing and is cleverly innovated to meet the demands of the high-end contemporary market. Q-Line offers all the practical and functional qualities required with six distinct cutting-edge features;

• Innovative finishes – Ceramic and Glass • Choice of openings – handle-less and touch to open

• New lower plinth line – 60mm low plinth line • Increased storage capacity – in base and tall units

• Combinations - customised options; dual profile, single profile, and touch openings.

Managing Director Mark Mills says, “Saying we

are thrilled with the success of Q-Line is very much an understatement. The development of this new range has been a very exciting time for the company! We are delighted that our design has been recognised by the industry, and

particularly proud to have been awarded the Designer Product Kitchen Design award. Clearly the potential of Q-Line is massive; it delivers on so many style-savvy consumers design demands whilst creating practical solutions to day-to-day issues. We look forward to further development

and introducing yet more finishes and colours. Watch this space!”.
