Enhanced features introduced due to installer feedback

The all-new Decor range from Mira has been enhanced with the addition of a dual-electric collection. The refreshed range has been redesigned to meet the needs of today’s homeowners, responding directly to insights from Mira Shower installers. The launch introduces new variants, new finishes

and enhanced features designed to improve both the installation experience and everyday showering performance. At the heart of the new range is the introduction

of a 9.5kW dual outlet model, giving installers a straightforward way to deliver the popular overhead shower experience without the complexity typically associated with a mixer shower installation. By combining an overhead and handset option

within an electric shower, the new model makes a premium, rainfall-style showering experience more accessible to a wider range of homes, while giving installers greater flexibility when specifying products for both new projects and retrofits. Alongside the new variant, the range also

benefits from enhanced shower fittings, additional finish options, black detailing and revised pricing

to strengthen its position within the style- led electric shower category. Expanded power and configuration options also provide greater installation flexibility, helping installers meet different property requirements while reducing the need for major electrical upgrades. Available in white, warm silver, bronze and black

onyx options, the new Decor range will initally be available exclusively through Screwfix ahead of a wider retail launch. ◼ phamnews.co.uk/1026/73

Simpler approach to sealed systems

Designed to take unnecessary work out of a job, the new Intafi l Combi from Inta takes the sealed system kit a step further, cutting out components, pipework and installation time. The idea came from what installers were already

doing on site: adding drain valves, isolation valves and extra fi ttings around expansion vessels, often in cramped airing cupboards and plant spaces. Intafi l Combi brings that functionality together in one compact monoblock. Inta says its own installation

assessments estimate it can save 15 to 20 minutes of on-site assembly time and eliminate up to four unnecessary joints. Intafi l Combi combines the fi lling

loop, pressure gauge, expansion vessel isolation and drain valve in one assembly, with a

More options for heat pump installation

The heat pump range from Ariston has been expanded with the launch of Nimbus 5 R290, off ering outputs from 3 to 15kW and confi gurations for diff erent domestic installation requirements. The range uses R290 refrigerant

and has a stated coeffi cient of performance (COP) of up to 5.1. It comprises three outdoor unit sizes and four indoor unit options, with pre-confi gured bundles available to simplify product selection. These include all-in-one systems, separate domestic hot water (DHW) cylinders and compact solutions for installations where space is limited. For DHW installations, Ariston off ers a pre-plumbed cylinder

with factory-integrated pipework and connections. Slimline 150L and 180L cylinders are available where space is limited, alongside a standard 210L option. Built-in Wi-Fi, 4G and LAN connectivity allows remote control, while the system can manage up to two heating zones. Maintenance access is provided

through an L-shaped panel, giving access to refrigerant and hydraulic components from the front and right-hand side of the outdoor unit. SET+ is included for commissioning and parameter selection. An integrated anti-freeze system, drain pan, cone fi lter and Y strainer water fi lter kit are also standard. ◼ phamnews.co.uk/1026/75

direct 22mm connection to the heating circuit, G¾ swivel connection to the expansion vessel and 360° rotatable drain-off . And the benefi ts continue after installation. The expansion vessel can be isolated

independently and emptied through the integrated drain valve, avoiding the need to drain down the complete heating system when the expansion vessel eventually needs servicing or replacement. An optional G½ connection allows

a safety relief valve to be added, while the anti-tamper arrangement helps prevent accidental isolation during normal operation. Intafi l Combi can also be used on air source heat pump installations, where the same sealed-system principles apply, giving installers a compact approach across both boiler and heat pump systems. ◼ phamnews.co.uk/1026/74

The new generation of smart thermostats from tado° is just 17.8mm thick and compatible with boilers, heat pumps and underfl oor heating systems. Smart Thermostat X (2nd gen) has a matt-white

fi nish, minimalist LED display and circular touch interface, with a top button providing faster access to controls. The button can be adjusted to display information such as humidity or boost heating. To reduce maintenance, 2nd gen introduces a

USB-C rechargeable battery that lasts for more than one year on a single charge, eliminating regular disposable battery changes. Installation has also been simplifi ed and guided setup has been included in the tado° app. According to the company, customers save an

average of 22% on their heating costs with tado°. Smart Thermostat X (2nd gen) builds on that success by making these cost reductions even easier to achieve through refi ned hardware and software. ◼ phamnews.co.uk/1026/76

Room-by-room heating control

A new radiator thermostat from Drayton has been added to the Wiser 2nd Generation range, off ering quieter operation, broader compatibility and room-by- room heating control. The Wiser 2nd Generation Radiator Thermostat

works with both 1st and 2nd Generation Wiser platforms and is compatible with 95% of major radiator valve manufacturers. It uses Zigbee for wireless connectivity and has a twist control for activating the Boost function, with audible confi rmation. Battery life is said to be more than two years using

the included alkaline batteries, based on Drayton’s standard operating conditions. The thermostat also supports Ni-MH rechargeable batteries. Manufactured in Britain, it can be controlled through the Wiser Home app as part of a system off ering room-by-room scheduling and remote heating control. ◼ phamnews.co.uk/1026/77
