Teaming up for mental health support
Heating and plumbing material suppliers are being urged to come together with builders merchants and pledge their support for a new mental health support initiative which aims to reach every customer of every merchant branch in the UK. Every Merchant Matters has been launched
with the aim of harnessing the reach of the builders merchant sector to create a nationwide network of branches where tradespeople can find someone who is available to listen, start a conversation and help signpost them towards mental health support.
The campaign is the brainchild of national
construction charity Band of Builders – which has partnered with the Support Yard CIC and has the backing of the Builders Merchants Federation (BMF). Once a pledge has been made, merchants will be encouraged to make a small donation to receive a Branch Activation Kit, with resources to promote the campaign and materials to hand out to colleagues and customers. New warehouse enables next day delivery service
Following the opening of its new UK warehouse in Redditch, Sonas Bathrooms is offering bathroom retailers and merchants across the UK next-day delivery on orders placed by 1pm. The 60,000+ft2 Redditch distribution centre, which has capacity for 8,300 pallets, enables the company to improve on the two- to three-day delivery UK customers had when orders were fulfilled from Ireland. The next- day delivery covers more than 2,000 products across the company’s range, including furniture, showers, brassware and sanitaryware. Richard Sloan, CEO of Sonas Bathrooms in Ireland and the UK, comments: “Opening the Redditch warehouse was a significant commitment to our UK customers, and we’ve built it with room to grow, so the service holds up as more retailers and merchants come on board. As we continue to grow in the UK, our focus remains on being a reliable, responsive partner that retailers can build their businesses with for the long term.” ◼
