More warranty coverage added if faults develop
MAX Confi dence is a support and warranty package from Ideal Heating linked to its Logic MAX and Vogue MAX boiler ranges. Launched earlier this year, the package includes a warranty arrangement under which customers receive an additional 12 months of cover if a fault is found to be the responsibility of Ideal Heating while the boiler remains within its original warranty period. The company says it will repair the fault and extend the warranty by one year. MAX Confi dence also includes priority service call-outs and customer support available throughout the year. Ideal Heating says the package is intended to bring together the warranty and service arrangements already associated with its Logic MAX and Vogue MAX products under a single off er for installers and homeowners.
Chris Jessop, group customer relationships director at Ideal Heating, says: “MAX Confi dence is about standing behind our products and giving customers a clear and fair outcome if things go wrong. We already have one of the strongest service models in the industry with long warranties, priority response, 365 day-a-year support and a nationwide engineer
Kits keeping maintenance simpler
Preventative maintenance kits from Baxi are designed to give installers pre-selected components for replacing parts during routine boiler servicing. The Baxi Care Kits are for use during an annual service and contain components including a combustion chamber door gasket, fl ue adapter test point and O-ring. Baxi recommends replacing gaskets and seals when they are exposed during routine boiler strip-down. The Plus version of the Care Kits is
designed for key points in the boiler’s lifecycle, with Baxi recommending their use every three to fi ve years depending on system condition and usage. They include the components in the standard Care
Kit, along with an ignition electrode, expansion vessel valve core, and plate-to-plate heat exchanger gasket and screws.
The kits are optional and are not a warranty requirement. The components were selected based on research into frequently replaced parts, with the included components used in around a third of service and repair situations. For installers, the kits provide the required components in a single package, reducing the need for multiple orders or carrying loose spares. The pre-selected parts and recommended replacement intervals could reduce guesswork around preventative maintenance.

network. This takes it a step further. “If a fault is on us, we fi x it and extend the warranty. It’s real accountability and a level of confi dence customers should be able to expect.” As the fi rst UK boiler manufacturer to off er this type of additional in-warranty cover, Ideal Heating says the move refl ects growing expectations around service, transparency and trust across the home heating market.

The NCB300 is Navien’s entry- level high-effi ciency condensing boiler designed to operate with either natural gas or LPG. The boiler is supplied with a fuel conversion kit as standard, allowing installers to change between the two fuel types rather than selecting separate boiler models. Navien says this is designed to provide fl exibility where the available fuel supply changes, such as properties that are not connected to the gas grid or new-build developments awaiting a natural gas connection. This approach can also simplify stockholding for merchants by
A decade of assurance for G1 installers and clients
Oil-fi red Vortex Pro boilers from Grant UK are available with a 10-year guarantee when installed and registered by a G1 Installer, subject to the company’s terms and conditions.
The guarantee applies to the Vortex Pro Internal, Vortex Pro External and Vortex Pro Combi models. To qualify, the installer must fi t a Grant Mag One fi lter and register the boiler within 30 days of installation through the G1 Portal or G1 Click app.
The Vortex Pro range comprises
heat-only, sealed-system and combination boilers, with outputs from 15 to 70kW. Grant says all models have an ‘A’ ErP rating and are compatible with hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO).
Conversion from kerosene to HVO requires alterations to the boiler, burner and system, which the manufacturer says can be carried out during an annual service.
The range includes internal and external models, with a slimline combi also available. Grant says the boilers have been developed using more than 40 years of experience in oil-fi red boiler design and incorporate burner technology intended to provide effi cient operation. The 10-year guarantee applies
specifi cally to Vortex Pro models under the G1 scheme, while Vortex Eco and Boiler House models are eligible for fi ve-year G1 guarantees.

phamnews.co.uk/1026/44 Major milestone reached with 1 millionth boiler
Worcester Bosch recently marked the sale of its one millionth Greenstar 4000 boiler, fi ve years after the range was launched in 2021. The Greenstar 4000 is manufactured at Worcester Bosch’s UK headquarters, with additional production in Turkey supporting demand for the range. The company says the milestone refl ects continued sales across the UK heating market. David Hunt, director of manufacturing, operations and engineering at Worcester Bosch, says: “This achievement simply wouldn’t be possible without the trade’s continued trust in our technology and their commitment to keeping our homes warm
and effi cient. There should also be credit to the manufacturing team here at Worcester Bosch who have worked tirelessly to make this achievement possible. We want to extend a massive thank you to every installer who has fi tted a Greenstar 4000 boiler over the last fi ve years. You are the reason we have achieved this.” Available as combi (25-30kW) and system
(12-24kW), a key feature of the Greenstar 4000 is the front cover which can be
removed by simply loosening two screws, as well as the right-hand side panel which can also be removed for easy access.

reducing the need to carry separate natural gas and LPG versions of the boiler. For installers, having the conversion kit included means there is no need to source an additional component when a change of fuel is required. The NCB300 is designed around existing installation routines, with Navien positioning it as a straightforward option for installers trying the product for the fi rst time. The company also highlights its layout and component integration as features intended to reduce installation complexity.

High output without plant room squeeze
The new fl oor-standing boiler range from Hamworthy Heating is designed for commercial plant rooms where space or access can be restricted. The Modumax mk4 has a compact, lightweight design with modules that can fi t through a standard doorway or be separated for handling in basement and rooftop plant rooms.
The boilers have an asymmetrical confi guration and a digital touchscreen, while improved access to key components is intended to make installation and servicing easier. A Modbus communications module is included for integration with building management systems, with a VFC remote signal kit supplied as standard.
The modules can be stacked two or three high in up to 15
combinations, providing outputs of up to 762kW in less than one square metre of fl oor space. A reduced fl ue height is intended for areas with restricted headroom.
Six pipework kits are available, each with pumps, and the boilers can be paired with Hamworthy Heating low loss headers. The Modumax mk4 is also approved for use with natural gas and LPG.
The range uses stainless steel heat exchangers and
comprises fi ve models with outputs from 97 to 254kW at 50/30°C. Hamworthy Heating specifi es a 5:1 turndown ratio, Class 6 NOx emissions and seasonal effi ciency of up to 95% gross. The boilers are covered by a 10-year warranty.
