Study confirms installation time savings

An independent time and motion study, commissioned by Geberit UK and conducted by the Building Services Research and Information Association (BSRIA), has confirmed the installation speed advantage of Geberit FlowFit compared to Geberit Mapress Copper and Geberit Mepla.

The study measured the time

required to complete the same installation task using each system, from pipe cutting to final assembly – all under controlled conditions. The results showed: Geberit FlowFit: 43 minutes; Mepla: 58 minutes; Mapress Copper: 161 minutes. This represents a 26% reduction

in installation time compared to Geberit Mepla and a 73% reduction compared to Geberit Mapress Copper. Pipe sizes tested ranged from 15 to 25mm. Anthony Corbett, product

applications engineer at Geberit, says: “This BSRIA study confirms what we often hear from installers – that Geberit FlowFit is a game- changer when it comes to ease of use and speed of installation. While each of our piping systems play a vital role in delivering high-

Taking heat pumps to Holyrood

The Heat Pump Association (HPA) brought working heat pumps to the Scottish Parliament last month to showcase the technology to MSPs ahead of the upcoming Heat in Buildings Bill. Supported by Mitsubishi Electric,

performance, robust solutions for different project requirements, Geberit FlowFit is clearly delivering measurable efficiency gains on site. From intuitive tool guidance to clear pressing indicators and a practical design, the system has been engineered to support faster, safer, and more consistent installations.” The results form part of Geberit

UK’s ongoing focus on developing systems that improve installation efficiency and support best practice in the building services sector. Find out more using the online

NIBE, the MCS Foundation and Nesta, the ‘Hear, See and Feel a Heat Pump’ event allowed politicians from five parties, including committee members scrutinising climate and housing policy, to see air-to-water and ground source systems in action. Industry experts were present to

answer questions and address common misconceptions about performance and reliability. Commenting on the event,

Olivia Smalley, head of policy and communications at the HPA, says: “This event was a brilliant opportunity to showcase heat pumps directly to MSPs, particularly in light of the highly anticipated

publication of the refreshed Heat in Buildings Bill. We were able to highlight the urgent need for policy certainty, and evidence the sector’s ambition to scale up should the Bill be delivered.” To read the HPA’s ‘Asks for the

Samsung Climate Solutions has appointed HomeServe as its national heat pump service and maintenance provider. The partnership expands Samsung’s repair and support network, offering customers access to HomeServe’s nationwide team and service plans. Covering products under Samsung’s heat pump warranties, the plans include annual servicing, technical support and repairs. The collaboration aims to make heat pumps more accessible and better understood by households switching to low-carbon heating.
