X marks the spot for AI enhanced energy savings
With the launch of AI Assist, home energy management specialist tado° is confident it can help UK households to benefit from greater comfort, lower bills and reduced emissions. The company’s tado° X controls are able to use artificial intelligence to provide advanced machine-learning powered features to make heating more predictable, responsive and efficient. “For years, the industry has automated heating but automation is just the start,” explains tado° co-founder Christian Deilmann. “AI Assist doesn’t just react – it thinks ahead, adapting to your life, to increase your comfort and savings.” AI Assist builds on the foundation of Auto Assist, tado°’s existing subscription service that automates geofencing and open window detection. For the same subscription cost, AI Assist will unlock a set of advanced features, such as predicting when a user returns home and preheating the property accordingly, and AI-powered insights that reveal
Cleanliness combined with extra comfort
exactly where and how energy is used. The tado° X range includes: Smart Thermostat
X, which enables users to control temperatures using the tado° app on their smart speaker; Smart Radiator Thermostat X, enabling control of radiators from anywhere using the tado° app; Heat Pump Optimiser X, which provides precise heat pump temperature control from anywhere (compatible with air-to- water, water-to-water and brine-to-water heat pumps) even without a connected thermostat; and Bridge X, which connects all tado° X products to the internet. ◼

Smart solution for social housing sector
Designed specifically for the social housing sector, the new Lo-Carbon Revive 7 integrates Vent-Axia’s smart-enabled fan technology with Switchee’s in-home connectivity to deliver energy- efficient ventilation, real-time environmental insights, tamper- proof performance, and proactive communication between landlords and residents. It is also claimed to be the first solution that not only identifies condensation and mould, but also actively helps to prevent them. The Lo-Carbon Revive 7 is a filter-less
unitary fan which already incorporates a an in-built data monitoring system. However, by integrating Switchee’s real-time data insights, social housing landlords can now proactively
manage properties and support residents. Providing instant insights into humidity, temperature, and fan usage, the Revive 7 Switchee enabled model provides early detection of damp, mould, or poor air quality, enabling social housing providers to better target resources, identify at-risk homes, and offer more tailored resident support. With direct messaging
capabilities and localised temperature tracking, it also enhances communication with tenants,
allowing landlords to provide environmental recommendations, such as turning the heating on, without property access, saving landlords money on potential future mould damage and repairs. ◼

The TankBoost range from Salamander Pumps has been extended with the introduction of a higher pressure 5.0 bar variant. Originally launched in 2023 to increase pressure
for mains-fed systems, the 3.0 bar TankBoost is now joined by a new variant designed to meet installers’ demand for higher pressure solutions for larger, multi-level properties with multiple outlets and increased water consumption, delivering water flow of up to 120 litres/min. It is said to be particularly suited to boosting water in taller buildings with long pipe runs to outlets on upper floors. Typical applications for the 5.0 bar TankBoost
include houses of multiple occupancy, B&Bs, hotels, small gyms, salons, restaurants and cafes. TankBoost comes in a range of tank sizes from 100
to 450 litres, with the option to include additional storage tanks to increase capacity. A CAT 5 version fitted with a type AB airgap is available for sites at risk of backflow contamination with Category 5 fluids. Bryan Liddle, sales director at Salamander Pumps,
says: “Since launching our initial 3.0 bar TankBoost solution it has been strongly received, with installers praising its all-in-one design allowing for simple installation.” ◼
