Heat networks


Said to be the first official training course for the government’s Heat Network Technical Assurance Scheme (HNTAS), the Building Engineering Services Association (BESA) has launched an online programme to prepare the sector for new regulations. Developed in partnership with the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, the course introduces HNTAS, which will set mandatory minimum standards for heat networks to improve efficiency, reliability and consumer protection. The scheme is expected to be phased in following consultation later this year. Delivered through the BESA Academy, the training is available free of charge via government funding and is aimed at developers, consultants, contractors, operators and local authorities, with further courses planned. ◼ phamnews.co.uk/1025/17
