Cylinders with purpose-built buffer Water Heating & Cylinders
A new range of slimline uniSTOR cylinders has been launched by Vaillant, all manufactured at the company’s new production site in Derby. The uniSTOR cylinders come in pre-plumbed and traditional models to deliver efficient hot water performance for both boiler and heat pump systems. For customers not quite ready to move to a heat pump immediately, fitting the new uniSTOR models now will allow them to upgrade to a heat pump when the time is right in the future. Designed with ease of installation in
mind, the cylinders are available with a complementary purpose-built buffer. When fitted with a heat pump, the buffer offers hydraulic decoupling, stores an additional heating capacity to use during peak demand and improves the overall performance of the system. The new uniSTOR cylinders allow for
the buffer to be fitted either at the top or the bottom of the cylinder, giving greater install flexibility and a neat finish, especially where space is limited, removing the need to fix onto the wall.
The cylinders, which come in 90, 150,
175 and 210 litre options, have also been designed to deliver a faster recovery rate, with larger coils combined with extra insulation resulting in less heat loss and more available hot water. Commenting on the launch, Mark
Wilkins, technology & solutions portfolio director at Vaillant, says: “With the continued growth in low carbon heating solutions, we’ve recently invested an additional £40m in our manufacturing facilities here in Derby. Our new, state- of-the-art site has been purpose built to manufacture our new range of high- recovery uniSTOR cylinders which complement any heat pump install. In addition, the new uniSTOR range can be installed with any Vaillant boiler.” ◼

Smarter pre- plumbed solutions
The hot water cylinder range available from Grant UK now includes four Quick Recovery Smart Pre-Plumbed cylinders which incorporate an Aerona Smart Controller, with the controller’s display, wiring centre and cylinder temperature sensor supplied fitted on the cylinder. With their factory-fitted pre-wired controls and pipework, these pre-plumbed cylinder options can speed up installation and make on-site set-up and commissioning easier. The QR Smart Pre-
Plumbed cylinders are available in four sizes
– 180, 210, 250 and 300 litres – and are compatible with both of Grant’s heat pump ranges. Each model incorporates many of the same features as the company’s other QR pre-plumbed cylinders including factory-fitted primary system pipework with
heating and hot water 2-port valves, factory-fitted cold water inlet pipework with inlet manifold, and a potable water expansion vessel. While the Aerona Smart Controller touchscreen display can be fitted on the cylinder, customers can choose to remove the display and locate this in another room if they prefer. Alongside the new QR Smart
Pre-Plumbed cylinders, new controller kits are also available. Each kit will include the Aerona Smart Controller WiFi Hub (which can be mounted to the cylinder using the adhesive pads supplied), an outdoor weather sensor, water temperature sensors, flexible hoses and
isolation valves. Customers will be able to order the appropriate controller kit according to the heat pump model being fitted, with separate kits supplied for the Aerona3
R32 units and the
Aerona 290 models. A heat pump installation pack is
also available which is specifically for use with the QR Smart Pre- Plumbed cylinder models, plus a 50 litre duplex stainless steel internal volumiser. ◼ phamnews.
