of BestHeating, comments: “It’s worrying to see that so many tradespeople across the UK have major concerns about the industry and are thinking of taking a second job or even changing roles altogether. Businesses that supply materials or products can play their part by providing better schemes that entice tradespeople to purchase their product with discounts as this has major benefits for their own organisation too.”

Worcester Bosch has announced plans to introduce a Clean Heat Cashback Pledge to support consumers and installers alike with the transition to Bosch electrified heat pumps and hybrid systems. The Clean Heat Cashback Pledge will be introduced alongside the implementation of the government’s proposed Clean Heat Market Mechanism (CHMM), which will impose fines on boiler manufacturers based on their boiler sales to encourage the adoption of heat pumps. If the CHMM is introduced into law as set out in current government proposals, from 1 April 2024 Worcester Bosch will be offering cashback to consumers who choose to invest in a Bosch heat pump or hybrid system, as well as additional cashback to installers.

Carl Arntzen, CEO of Worcester Bosch, says: “The start of 2024 is not just a fresh start, it also means that the UK is one step closer to its net zero 2050 target. If we are to succeed, then lower carbon heating technology – including heat pumps – needs to be more accessible to consumers. We believe that this kind of incentive is exactly what the boiler levy arising from the Clean Heat Market Mechanism should be used for.”

A safety warning has been issued by the Bathroom Manufacturers Association (BMA) about potential scalding when stop- button showerheads are used with instantaneous electric showers. There has been a surge in for showerheads

featuring a start/stop button, says the BMA. While these present no issues for mixer-valve showers, which blend hot and cold water from separate systems, they can cause a significant safety hazard when used with instantaneous electric showers.
