Heat pump poll refl ects real life experiences


A poll hosted on Renewable Heating Hub has seen Mitsubishi Electric, known for its Ecodan heat pump, earn the title of Best Heat Pump Brand in the UK for 2025, with 10.36%of the total votes. The survey asked people to share their thoughts across 29 heat pump brands, refl ecting real- world experiences from those who rely on heat pumps every day. Homeowners evaluated brands based on criteria such as overall satisfaction, performance, reliability and customer support. The awards, determined entirely by


homeowner consensus, also named NIBE (8.88%) and Grant (8.51%) as runners-up in second and third positions, respectively. Several other brands received notable recognition, including Vaillant (8.09%), Daikin (6.76%), Panasonic (6.23%), Viessmann (6.21%), Samsung (5.97%), LG (5.23%) and Worcester Bosch (4.95%) This year’s awards also highlighted rising

Colour trends WaterMark to join WIAPS


WaterMark, the Approved Contractor Scheme currently managed by Severn Trent and Hafren Dyfrdwy, will join the Water Industry Approved Plumbers’ Scheme (WIAPS) from 1st April. Operated by Water Regs UK on behalf of 15 water companies, WIAPS is the UK’s largest approved contractor scheme. The transition will allow WaterMark members to transfer to WIAPS,


subject to meeting the scheme’s requirements, while maintaining their WaterSafe registration. For plumbing professionals, the move off ers broader UK-wide recognition, reducing the need for multiple memberships. The Building Engineering Services Association (BESA) is urging employers to get behind “a big push for skills” by supporting the 2025 WorldSkills competition. Open to students and apprentices aged 16 and above, the competition spans over 80 countries and aims to boost skills development and employment opportunities. The UK’s refrigeration and air conditioning


(RAC) category will be organised by BESA, where entrants will be tested on practical skills, technical knowledge and compliance with industry standards. Winners could secure a place on Team UK for the 2028 Skills Olympics in Japan. The nine-month process includes regional heats, training, and a
