News Brigantia’s Insider Threat Roadshow tour


CYBERSECURITY distributor Brigantia celebrated another successful series of events with the conclusion of its three-city Insider Threat Roadshow. The events allowed Brigantia’s MSP partners to meet vendors and learn the latest ways to manage and mitigate insider threats. Beginning in London at Lord’s Cricket Ground, the


roadshow moved onto Birmingham before concluding in York on Friday, 23 February. The event’s theme was insider threat – in other words, the security risks that people within an organisation can pose. The roadshow highlighted the need for MSPs to address the security deficit and the potential to add new revenue streams. All three events featured the same vendors, allowing Brigantia’s MSP partners from across the UK and Ireland to meet them face-to-face. Brigantia’s Senior Product Specialist, Ed Knox, introduced the event, explaining the theme and the opportunities it presents for MSPs.


The speakers were: • Next DLP’s Vice President (EMEA), Stefan Jarlegen, on the risks of unintended data loss and ways of monitoring and managing the internal and external flow of information.


• Hornetsecurity’s Head of Presales, Matt Fry, on insider risk concerning Microsoft 365 and ways to mitigate it without compromising productivity.


• Conceal’s Director of Sales, Mark Ross, on the importance of security at the browser level in the age of cloud services and hybrid work.


• Sendmarc’s Senior Sales Specialist, Danny Hoogeveen spoke in London, on the rise of DMARC and the critical need to raise standards of domain and mail security. While, Filipe Guedes and Kerry Tomkinson spoke in Birmingham and York respectively on the same topic.


In addition to the vendors, Brigantia invited expert guest speakers to share their insights with attendees. In London, Mike Knight of MKLINK advised on how to maximise referrals. Ethical hacker and cybersecurity consultant Joe Burns spoke about session-hijacking attacks at the Birmingham and York events. In addition to the talks, attendees received lunch,


refreshments, and facetime with the vendors. Angus Shaw, Brigantia director, said: “Our events are all about adding value for partners, and the roadshow was no exception. Insider threat is critically essential and all too often neglected. A vast majority of successful cyberattacks involve some human error – and in the age of cloud, organisations face more threats with less visibility. “The roadshow was a chance to educate partners on ways to tackle those threats. As well as protecting their customers, we’re also highlighting the potential for new revenue opportunities that insider threat presents. I want to thank all attendees and, of course, all the speakers who shared their time and expertise.”


Westcon-Comstor and Cisco sign AWS Marketplace deal


WESTCON-COMSTOR has expanded its partnership with Cisco to create AWS Marketplace growth opportunities for channel partners and drive adoption of Cisco’s market-leading solutions. The agreement means Westcon-Comstor, which through its Comstor arm has a relationship with Cisco dating back more than two decades, can now privately list Cisco’s cybersecurity, observability and networking and collaboration-focused software products in AWS Marketplace.


Partners gain the ability to transact and serve end-user customers as part of an integrated, end-to-end sales process within AWS Marketplace, enabling them to benefit from accelerated transaction times, expanded deal sizes, higher win rates and shortened sales cycles. Cisco is one of the first software vendors to be formally announced as a participant in Westcon-Comstor’s AWS Marketplace programme, following the signing of the distributor’s Designated Seller of Record (DSOR) agreement with AWS. The agreement with Cisco covers both the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region and Asia-Pacific (APAC), with an initial focus on select countries in Europe, as well as Australia and New Zealand.

Forrester found recently that channel partners selling in AWS Marketplace can close deals up to 50% faster, while Canalys predicts that global sales of third-party vendor software and services through cloud marketplaces will hit US $45 billion by 2025, up 84% CAGR over five years.
