Quite the opposite. Scribe is set up to maintain a full inventory of spares for at least three years post-end-of-production.
There are some clear challenges here - developing products which the UCI takes exception to, and, it would seem, gives little notice to manufacturers about. You mean the 65mm rim depth? I feel bad for wheel brands that’ve been caught on the wrong side of this. The amount of time, resources, and money invested to design, test, production verify - not small. Having close relationships is essential. Knowing what’s being discussed and understanding your own exposure is far from easy.
On the positive side, Triathlon, over any distance, is a place
where the UCI has no say. Neither do they for recreational riders. Now, for those buying ‘performance’, the engineering behind the product, including the wind tunnel testing, isn’t going to change just because the UCI decided to move the goal posts without warning.
