chasing Olympic gold, and it’s the same philosophy behind HOY bikes. Geometry, crank lengths, weight, and braking are all tailored for young riders. Pedal bikes feature custom triple-butted aluminium frames and components for a lightweight, responsive ride, with wider bars, junior-specific geometry, and easy-to-operate disc brakes as standard. The Weee! balance bike uses a durable, lightweight composite frame to help more children start cycling. The styling, I think, looks awesome; simple but cool - and the familiar Hoy ‘track bands’ logo is back as a nod to my past on the velodrome. The names of the models are also linked to my childhood on two wheels; ‘Pentland’ is a reference to the Pentland Hills outside Edinburgh, where I used to go mountain biking and ‘Weee’ is simply the sound I apparently made when I first
For IBDs, what specific support mechanisms, marketing initiatives, or training programs will Tandem Group and Hoy Bikes implement to ensure retailers are well-equipped to new range?
As someone passionate about cycling, I’m committed to supporting Independent Bike Dealers as true ambassadors of the HOY bike brand. Every dealer should be equipped to deliver an exceptional experience to their customers. That’s why next-day delivery from a Birmingham-based fully stocked warehouse ensures the bikes are ready when needed. Over the next few months, I’ll be visiting some dealers in person to offer my support and share the excitement of the new range. Tandem’s regional sales and account teams are also out there meeting shops across the country, helping dealers get to know the range inside out. A comprehensive dealer range book and a full suite of marketing tools have been developed and are available on Citrus Lime, plus a 10-year warranty to back our quality and give dealers peace of mind.

Our goal is to build a dynamic, evolving brand that supports riders at every stage of their journey. While we have ambitious plans, we believe thoughtful, feedback-driven innovation will guide us in creating the best products for families and young riders in the years to come.
