pryder@datateam.co.uk EDITORIAL Good with the Bad

What can I say? There have been many positives this year. Businesses returning to profit, good weather giving shops a boost, and a more positive outlook overall. But we’re not one to shy away from reporting the bad. It’s not all positive.

We’ve got to take the good with the bad. It’s been reassuring to see the market moving, backlogs clearing and a focus on the future. We’ve been reflecting on the year so far, and what the next few months look

like. We’ve got some exciting things in the pipeline, and want to push forward with some new ideas to continue building on things in motion. Progress, not perfection, has been a bit of a motto here at BikeBiz. I suppose that relates to a lot of things in life, riding included. What’s the saying? Comparison is the thief of joy? However, that’s not to say that comparison is always a bad thing. By comparing, we can gain insights if done mindfully. We can communicate, we can learn from each other, share lessons learned, and things best avoided. If anything can be said about the last few years, we’ve likely all learned lessons. These have hopefully put you in a better position than before, but sometimes it takes a few attempts before we find the right rhythm. When you look back, and indeed, ahead, what lessons can you take away

from the start of the year? Are there things you’ll be leaving in the past in favour of insights gained from the good and bad across the year? Hopefully, there’ll be some valuable insights in our latest issue. As always,

we’re open to hearing your thoughts. If you’ve got something to share, get in touch.
