Fli Distribution ceases trading
FLI Distribution has ceased trading with the owners citing Brexit and restrictions impacting their ability to work with brands in the EU. Colin Williams, director of Fli, said: “It has been a great experience running this company and I’m super proud of all we achieved over the years. It’s impossible for me to thank everyone who’s supported us on this rollercoaster of an adventure individually. “The list of companies and individuals who have been part of this story in our evolution from race team management into distributor and agency is a very long one. It has defined a big
chunk of my life and introduced me to many people who I’m sure will be lifelong friends. “Now is a time to ride, catch up with friends that I’ve not had time to see over the past few years of chaos and breathe a bit. Who knows what the future has in store for
me, but this era has come to an end.” Fli started out as Fli Race Team Management, before
transitioning to distribution in the mid-2000s with Reverse and Solid Bikes. Fli also supplied KTM bicycles to the UK market for more than a decade.
Lee Kidger leaves role as Raleigh UK managing director
LEE Kidger has taken the decision to leave his role as managing director of Raleigh UK.
Kidger’s last working day at the Nottingham-based bike manufacturer was Friday, July 28, although he remains an employee of the company until the end of September. Following the announcement, Kidger said: “It has been a fantastic nine years at Raleigh, starting off as a sales rep for East Anglia and North London, finishing up with a great three years as managing director. “I would like to personally thank everyone that has supported Raleigh and myself – we couldn’t have continued to bring Raleigh and all our other brands, both bikes and P&A to cyclists in the UK and Ireland without you.”
Bike Club acquires Bicircular
BIKE Club, the subscription provider of kids’ bikes, has agreed to acquire Bicircular, a Barcelona-based bike subscription platform for children in Spain. Founded in London in
2016, Bike Club enables parents to subscribe to bikes for their children, and then exchange the bikes for larger sizes as their children grow. Bicircular was Spain’s first platform for children’s bike
rentals and follows the same subscription model as Bike Club Under the terms of the deal, Bicircular’s subscribers will
join Bike Club’s community of parents and riders and become customers of the combined company. Gabriel Medina, founder and CEO of Bicircular, also joins
Bike Club in a senior leadership role to guide and execute the business development strategy as country director for Spain.
