Taking a fresh look at e-bike architecture, Carbotronics is merging everything into a single


system. Rather than workshops having to ship complete drive units away for every minor fault, the team’s ‘Power Frame’ platform is designed for easy internal access, modular repairs, and long-term serviceability at dealer level. Bringing the frame and drive system together into a single, serviceable architecture, the brand plans to do things differently.

Carbotronics comes from a background in mechatronics, marine power winches, robotics, and industrial automation. Tell us a little about the company and what prompted the transition into the e-bike sector? Carbotronics brings together expertise in mechanical engineering, electric motors, electronics, software, composite materials and transmission systems.

Moving into electric mobility was a natural extension of those capabilities. When we looked at e-bikes, we saw significant advances in motors, batteries and electronics, while the prevailing structural arrangement remained a separate drive unit bolted to a frame.
