INTERVIEW
Beyond Two Wheels: How ICE Trikes Is Widening the Road to Cycling
From its Cornish roots to pioneering electric-assist and adaptive designs, ICE Trikes has spent decades challenging assumptions about who cycling is for. Following its Bike Brand of the Year recognition in 2025, BikeBiz speaks to the employee-owned manufacturer about specialist retail, inclusive innovation and its ambition to bring recumbent cycling into the mainstream.
How important was industry recognition from the Bike Brand of the Year award? As a specialist manufacturer in Falmouth, Cornwall, that is competing globally, recognition from the wider cycling industry means a great deal. But it is really an award for our team and our global partners - the people designing, building and supporting our trikes and customers. As an employee-owned business, that recognition is
particularly meaningful. It also helps us achieve something bigger: raising awareness of recumbent cycling and showing more people that there’s a trike for them. Winning the award was fantastic, but getting more people out riding is the real prize.
