Putting profits back into your pocket: Gogeta is challenging the status quo of Cycle to Work, focusing on fair fees and fast payments. Founder, Barry Scott, tells us how their retailer-centric model is helping to empower independent bike shops.


As a former bike retailer, you’ve experienced the challenges of traditional Cycle to Work schemes firsthand. What specific problems with current schemes motivated you to create Gogeta? The fundamental one, the scheme fees were way too high. 10-15% fee to process a bit of paper is egregious, and has turned what should be an amazing catalyst for more sales into something retailers often dread—also, the poor customer service on

both sides. Retailers have to wait for payment, and customers are in the ridiculous situation of having to spend their full voucher amount in one go or lose it.


In a market dominated by larger, legacy providers, how does Gogeta effectively compete and differentiate itself? We charge retailers 3%, which is effectively the cost of a credit card. And we would love to bring that
