1 Orbea presents the new 2023 Oiz
Orbea has presented its new Oiz, which the brand says is ‘built to fly’. A slacker head angle
(67°), a lower bottom bracket (333mm), and a longer reach (450mm for size M) are some of the features that, when combined with 120mm travel, offer the ‘control and confidence of a superb, technically adept cross-country bike’. Orbea has also kept the weight of the frame down
2 Canyon presents Spectral CF 8 KIS with new steering stabilising technology
Bike brand Canyon has presented the Spectral CF 8 KIS. Keep It Stable (KIS) is a
new steering stabilising technology that Canyon said raises the bike handling bar ‘to the next level’. Invented by Jo Klieber at
Syntace and engineered by Canyon into the Spectral CF 8, KIS uses custom springs, ultra-strong polymer fibre bands, and a precisely shaped cam ring hidden inside the frame to actively centre bars while riding. It does not rely on friction, said Canyon, it creates a

perfectly tuned centering force to make riding trails smoother, faster, and more controlled. Fully integrated inside
the frame, KIS adds 110g of
to just 1,750g, which means that this new platform, with 120mm of travel, weighs in at 9.98g (size M, with pedals, water bottle and computer mount). In order to achieve this figure, Orbea has incorporated technologies like UFO, redesigned the carbon linkage and reworked the lamination on all its frames using OMX carbon. Orbea has kept its
patented I-Line cable integration technology, but this Oiz introduces the new SIC System, for optimal
cockpit cable integration. It shortens the cables and ensures they don’t rattle, with the added benefit of a clean look. The system is also optimised to make changing the stem and handlebars just as easy as on a non-integrated cockpit. The new Oiz models will be on sale from the end of the year, and riders can already reserve their new bike using Orbea’s Rider Connect service. RRP: From £2,999 £10,499
3 Bianchi launches new Oltre range led by Oltre RC ‘hyperbike’
Bianchi has launched the Oltre platform, led by the Oltre RC ‘hyperbike’ and complemented by the Oltre Pro and Oltre models. Bianchi designed and
integrated Air Deflectors (patent pending) into the sides of the head tube, channelling airflow and creating a low-pressure zone at the rear of the tube. The action of the deflectors complements the performance of the new aero cockpit, which
weight to the mainframe and Canyon said the only difference riders will see on the bike is the adjustment slider on the top tube. Canyon, together with
Liteville (part of the Syntace family), are the exclusive brands to bring this new technology to the market. For Canyon, the Spectral CF 8 KIS will be the debut model equipped with the system. RRP: Canyon Spectral 2023 range, from £2,499 to £6,499
4 Wolf Tooth Components launches new Waveform Aluminium pedals
US component brand Wolf Tooth has just launched the
new Waveform Aluminium Pedals. These
off-road flat pedals feature a dual- concave profile with 11 pins on
each side, and a tapered edge to reduce the risk of pedal strike. Wolf Tooth’s latest pedal
product comes in two sizes – large and small – and is available in four colours: black, orange, blue and ultraviolet purple. The dual-concave design includes 12.5mm centre pedals while the perimeter

generates low-pressure air vortices directed toward the legs of the moving athlete through a centrally located hole. Compared to the
previous Oltre XR4 model, Bianchi said the Oltre RC saves 17 watts at a speed of 50 km/h and gains 45 seconds over a distance of 40km with a power output of 250 watts/h. The new Bianchi Oltre,
Oltre Pro, and Oltre RC will be available from the Bianchi dealer network starting in November 2022.
is 14mm. Wolf Tooth said the pedal was designed to match the profile of the shoe. Each size
is scaled to match that shape. Size small is 105mm x 99mm at 373g per
pair and size large is 112mm x 106mm at 384g per pair. Wolf Tooth is distributed in the UK by Saddleback. RRP: £235
