5 Navigation start-up Beeline launches new Velo 2 cycle computer
In a cycling tech market characterised by increased additional functions, compatibility, and pricing, the new Beeline Velo 2 is a step away from the trends, with simplicity at its core. Riders are encouraged to
‘review’ roads on their route, either giving positive or negative feedback via a button on the device, which the Beeline team will then use to improve navigation functions.
6 Muc-Off launches tool to hide bike tracker inside tubeless tyres
With the ever-rising cost of bikes, comes the increased need for security. There have been plenty
of developments in cycle security this year, but perhaps the most affordable and effective is innovations in GPS tracking. Cycle cleaning and
maintenance brand Muc-Off has been branching into accessories this year, including the launch of the Stealth Tubeless Tag holder, which lets riders store an Apple Airtag tracking device inside their tyre. The Stealth holder is a protective silicone and rubber valve mount that allows for an airtight seal and can be installed on tubeless gravel and mountain bike wheels. The Stealth Tubeless Tag Holder retails for £14.99.
Beeline also has more plans in the works, including integration with micromobility provider Tier, and the potential for partnerships with e-bike manufacturers directly. Following success in the
motorbike market, Beeline returned its focus to the cycling sector, with the Velo 2 retailing at £79.99.

7 Anti-angle grinder locks
Following the theme of security, there have been at least two new releases in the lock market that will be welcome news to many cycle consumers - anti- angle grinder locks. British bike security
brand Litelok, based in Wales, recently unveiled the Litelok X range, which utilises a new composite material, called Barronium after company CEO Professor Neil Barron.
The brand claims these new locks are up to 15 times stronger than the best-performing locks
7
currently on the market. British brand Hiplok also
released its own anti-angle grinder product, the D1000, which meets Sold Secure Diamond Motorcycle and Bicycle Ratings, and features a 20mm graphene reinforced hardened steel shackle . Litelok X1 retails for
£149.99. The Litelok X3, an even stronger model, retails for £279.99 and was available from
November. Hiplok’s D1000 retails for £250 .
8 Pure Advanced Flex 8 6
While the e-scooter issue still divides opinion in the bike trade, its clear we’re heading to a new era of urban transport in this country, and not a moment too soon. Pure Electric, the former e-mobility retailer now focused on manufacturing its own-brand e-scooters, recently launched its latest innovation in the e-scooter market - the Advanced range. With a new riding position, where users stand on lowered side-by-side footpads to improve stability and control, the Pure Advanced scooters allows the rider to stand with their feet shoulder-width apart, their weight balanced, facing fully forwards.
The Advanced Flex has a
range up to 40km, and with its ultra-compact folding design, it can easily be stored, taking up less space than an e-bike or a conventional e-scooter. The Pure Advance Flex retails for £1,099 and is expected to land in March 2023.
