Welcome to the latest edition of Kennedy’s Confection. The landscape of chocolate and confectionery is developing rapidly, and we are excited to bring you the latest updates and thought-provoking stories that highlight these transformations - with a key focus this time, on one of my favourite topics, sustainability. As this continues to be a bit of a buzz word in the industry, there is danger of greenwashing to keep ahead of the curve, however I’m delighted to say this sector proves time and again how dedicated it is to creating a real sustainable future for all.
Our Cover Story (page 10) takes you behind the scenes of a remarkable success
story. Discover how the Cama Group and B&R overcome significant challenges to co-create a solution that seamlessly integrates machinery, technology, and augmented reality. This inspiring narrative showcases the power of collaboration and innovation in solving complex problems and advancing industry capabilities.
In Events (page 8), we shine a spotlight on the highly anticipated London
Chocolate Forum 2024. With keynote speakers like Natalie Rockell, of Waitrose & Partners, who will be discussing advanced sustainable cocoa sourcing methods, and we have also confirmed Maximilian Bogenmann and Christian Bach, Co-founders of Endless Food Co, based in Copenhagen, their company is pioneering the future of chocolate with a focus on flavour-driven sustainability. They have developed THIC (This Isn’t Chocolate), a cacao-free alternative to traditional chocolate. This event promises to be a melting pot of ideas and expertise. Get a sneak peek at what to expect and why this forum is a must-attend for anyone passionate about chocolate, and you’ll find a QR code to scan to purchase your tickets.
