Maximising opportunities

I look forward to this issue every year as it offers the chance to look back at the recent DIY Week Awards and celebrate the success of our winners. One company stood out as being particularly successful this year: Avron had 21 shortlisted entries in 10 categories that resulted in winning four highly commended and seven first place trophies. This unprecedented success is down to a number of factors, including strategy, perseverance, focus, and a willingness to enter a range of categories with the confidence to put their products up against the competition. The awards are open to all and with entries being judged by an independent panel of experts, so any company can enter as many products and categories as they wish. In the spirit of

openness and to ensure fairness, we like to keep it an open and level playing field for all, which makes being recognised as a finalist and possibly winning an award a genuine achievement. I’m always encouraging companies to enter the awards and make the most of the opportunity to have their latest

products or business successes recognised. Avron has certainly listened to this advice over the last few years, enjoying great success in a range of categories. This in turn has provided the company with some lucrative marketing opportunities that have been fully maximised. So it’s easy to understand why Avron has focused on the awards, but the question remains how have they achieved so much success? There’s only one way to find out and get to the truth and that’s to ask the man in charge and last year’s industry personality of the year winner, Managing Director, Vijay Sahdev. So that’s exactly what we did, and you can read the full in depth and honest interview with him next month. In the meantime, please enjoy this issue and our special DIY Week Awards 2025 supplement.
