ADVERTISEMENT FEATURE Spotlight on Talasey: one of the UK’s leading

independent suppliers of landscaping solutions Talasay has assembled an impressively comprehensive portfolio of quality landscaping products – and developed an equally committed and innovative approach to supporting its merchants and stockists. The company’s growth has been impressive, and DIY Week takes a look at how it plans to continue on an upward curve.

Talasey is in the midst of a significant step change, which is best epitomised by the company’s recent move to a new four-acre head office site in Scunthorpe.

The business has made a significant investment to transform the site, and not just to increase the capacity for more people to join its team in the months and years ahead but to become a UK inspiration hub for the landscaping industry and a destination for stockists, retailers and merchants to see its product showroom, as well as the vast array of installations of its products. It now has enough space to do justice to the displays of its brands – Natural Paving, Vitripiazza, Luxigraze, Piranha and Pavetuf – so that visitors can’t fail but to be inspired by its products and can get lots of ideas to help their customers and consumers to make stunning garden and landscaping features. Talasey is a generous host, and there’s an open invitation to stockists not only to visit the site but to use its facilities – which include a meeting space big enough to host up to 70 people in one room.

Also housed in its grounds is its on-site Talasey

Training Academy and even allotments for staff – as part of its commitment to staff wellbeing. The attention to detail at the new site is hugely

impressive – but the company’s outward-looking approach of taking Talasey to the doorsteps of stockists is just as rigorous.

Talasey on Tour Talasey has been working with its merchant and stockist partners to find innovative new solutions for showcasing its products, and its Talasey on Tour initiative is already proving to be a big hit. It’s a fully branded mobile showroom that is ideal for pop-up stockist and retailer events. It’s staffed by its experts to help customers with questions, hints and tips, or general advice. Given the success of this, the company is already looking at ways to expand its Talasey on Tour fleet.

And in addition to Talasey on Tour, the company has also introduced a dedicated new team of Merchant Support Managers to increase the amount and availability of support for stockists. The team will support with merchandising promotions, point of sale and more.

Point of sale Talasey has been equally innovative when it comes to point of sale (POS). It was one of the first businesses to use the toast-rack method of displaying products – especially for its Natural Paving and Vitripiazza (porcelain paving) brands. The company takes it as a compliment that others are following suit because toast racks are a great way to see the different options, especially for larger-sized paving products. It has also introduced revolving displays – which it pioneered for its Piranha composite decking, fencing and cladding brand. This is because one range has a wood-effect pattern on one side and a colour-matching traditional grooved finish on the reverse. The other range has a reverse colour, which is ideal for creating contrasts or patterns – such as contrasting edging. It’s a simple idea, but it really helps to show off the options.

A commitment to supporting stockists Creating a new UK inspiration hub for the landscaping industry,

introducing Talasey on

Tour, introducing a new team of Merchant Support Managers and constantly innovating its POS hasn’t just happened overnight. It’s a commitment to its existing stockists and an attractive offer for new ones.
