2 DEOS for hard-to-reach areas

Mirka’s new DEOS 343CV sander can handle multiple applications that range from detail sanding to furniture and window frames, while the tool’s 75 mm x 100 mm pad enables easy access to hard to reach areas. Its low profile allows the tool to get closer to the surface, making it easier to control. From an abrasive perspective, the Abranet® Ace®

, Abranet

and Iridium ranges provide the DEOS 343CV with a selection of premium abrasives that will provide the user with a consistent scratch pattern and a high-quality finish. www.mirka.com

4 3 3 3. OLFA’s new SK-16

OLFA’s streak of innovation continues with its brand new SK-16, a cutting tool that’s safe and efficient. Materials pass through two cutting channels, each protected by a plastic blade guard. Blade exposure is wide enough to cut thick materials, such as heavy paperboard, carpet tiles or corrugated surface protection. Still, it’s not wide enough for even a finger, drastically reducing the risk of injury.Materials can also be trimmed in situ without damaging the floor or worktop underneath, thanks to the blade guard. The SK-16 can also be used to unpackage goods on-site without the risk of damaging the contents. The blade is made of high-quality Japanese tool steel, so it’s ultra- sharp and long-lasting. When it eventually dulls, it can be swapped it for a new one in under three seconds.. www.www.axusdecor.com

Sika Fastfix All Weather jointing compound now comes with a new, more sustainable packaging design, which is manufactured in part using post-consumer recycled plastic. Sika Everbuild anticipates it will save around 400 tonnes of virgin plastic this year alone. Sika FastFix All Weather self-setting jointing compound comes ready to use with no mixing required. Once set it acts as a natural barrier to weed growth on paving, footpaths and patios, including cobbles and Indian sandstone paving slabs and it won’t shrink or crack over time. Once opened, it can be easily stored in water and reused on future projects. Sika Fastfix All Weather comes in five colours - Charcoal, Flint, Stone, Dark Buff and Deep Grey. www.everbuild.co.uk.

Imperial Bricks’ Weathered Original Scotch Common and Original Giscol Common bricks are ideal, sustainable alternatives to reclaimed bricks for RMI and new build. The Original Giscol Common is a rough-cast, wirecut brick with a ‘burnt’ appearance that features coal spotting, natural banding and colour variation - characteristics of the traditional manufacturing methods. Imperial’s Weathered Original Scotch Common is slighter smoother and has less coal spotting. It features a unique ‘dual-faced’ design, where each brick has one tonally weathered face and header, and the reverse side is left plain. Both bricks are available in a solid 73mm imperial size, with the Original Giscol Common also available in metric.
