7. Mapelastic joins Zero line of carbon offset products
Mapei UK’s Zero line of carbon offset products has been extended further, with the introduction of Mapelastic Zero.
A two-component elastic cementitious waterproofing mortar, Mapelastic Zero provides permanent, durable protection of balconies, terraces, bathrooms and swimming pools, with CO2 fully offset in the entire life cycle. Fast and simple to
prepare and apply, Mapelastic Zero provides perfect adhesion to substrates. The versatile mortar is highly flexible at low temperatures to -20oc, resistant to UV rays and has a very low VOC formulation. As well as application before tiling, it can be used to waterproof and protect a range of substrates including cementitious screeds and renders, concrete, concrete blocks, plasterboard and cement board. It also provides protection from CO2 penetration to concrete surfaces for more than 50 years.

9. Johnstone Trade launches UltraLast Matt range
Johnstone’s Trade has launched UltraLast Matt, a premium quality matt wall paint that is resilient to initial scuffing and marking; it is available in 5L and 10L packs and is tintable to its full colour range. Its paint has been formulated with Resilient Scuff Technology, which helps to prevent the painted surface from the initial scuff marking; creating a longer lasting finish. If painted surfaces do become marked, the paint

technology allows the matt coating to be easily cleaned, withstanding more than 10,000 scrubs, which further helps to extend maintenance cycles. In-built stain resistance makes the painted surface last even longer, while unavoidable stains can be removed with most commercial cleaning solutions.

11. Flowcrete launches low emissions resins range
to include shower packs in a chrome and a matte black finish, while there are plenty of new products for sister brand Deva featured.
These include Ethos bathroom taps in matte black, as well as a new range of Wexford bathroom taps in chrome and the Carlow kitchen sink in five different finishes – chrome, brushed chrome, copper, brushed brass and matte black.

The coatings are certified and audited by Eurofins Consumer Product Testing and they carry the label “Indoor Air Comfort Gold”.
