Lords was established over 35 years ago as a family business with its first retail unit in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire. Since then, the Group has grown to a business operating from 49 sites. The Group operates through three divisions: Merchanting, with 33 locations in the UK, Plumbing and Heating: a specialist distributor with over 16 locations, and Digital: a market-leading e-commerce only platform serving UK homeowners and trade professionals through a suite of specialist Superstore websites. Lords Group floated on the AIM market in July 2021, with the target of becoming a £500m turnover company by 2024.

In the past year, it has opened a new branch in Mansfield, under the trading name of its AW Lumb subsidiary, and acquired the trade and assets of CMO Group Limited the UK online-only retailer of construction products following a CMO pre-pack administration process.


It has also opened two joint branches under the trading arms of Lords Builders Merchants and Advance Roofing Supplies. The first is on the Lords Trading Estate in Bicester, formerly operated by Blanchford Building Supplies. The second is on a prominent 1.6 acre site, and brings over 40 years’ worth of trading history within the Bury St Edmunds
