The midst of lockdown 3 has us wondering, when will it end?


espite a non-eventful start to the year we have already welcomed March and things are starting to look up.


he new year has not offered the prosperity we hoped for the housewares industry and another lockdown is upon us. Non-essential retail has been forced to close for the third time in the past year. It is difficult to see the light at the end of the tunnel when we aren’t sure whether we are coming or going but the industry continues to find new ways to adapt. With more time on their hands, many are taking the time to declutter their homes and invest in the space that they spend most of their time in. Whether this be a complete re-design of a room or

vaccinated and a slow road to normality. The March/April issue will be my third edition of Housewares and I am still yet to produce a publication where retailers are open. In the meantime, I have enjoyed connecting with the industry (albeit online) and can only anticipate the excitement that is to come in the next few months. There is good progress with the vaccination roll out and the road to recovery is not as farfetched as it once seemed with non- essential shops being allowed open from 12th April if all things go to plan.
