been accepted by the UK customer. Any household is guaranteed to have multiple pieces of this and, with the average price coming in at £18.67 in our survey, it’s a good cash line.

Eco-friendly products At the moment, the numbers would suggest that this is largely focused around eating and drinking out, with Bee’s Wrap (sustainable food storage wraps) from Eddingtons receiving several mentions. Alternatives to plastic straws are popular too, along with sustainable drinkware such as reusable coffee cups from KeepCup, Auteur’s Stojo collapsible cups, First Person’s Eco Coffee cups and bamboo fibre coffee cups from ECoffee Cup. And the 30/16l recycler bin from Simplehuman was the top scoring bin. To date customers have always been reticent to spend a premium on products to save the environment. The last word goes to our one hit wonders: those

products that made just a single appearance this year. Here’s a taster: Half Moon Bay Game of Thrones range, Wild & Wolf Scrabble mugs, Bolsius church pillar candles, Skip*Hop children’s tableware, Anniversary House cookie cutters, New Soda Big Peeler, Gisela Graham Mustard Chevron mugs, Curver Knit rectangular baskets, Tramontina BBQ tools, Eco Chic foldaway shopping bags, Utopia gin glasses, Neville UK GenWare copper jiggers and Doric Cake Crafts Sprinkletti edible sprinkles. Perhaps more unusually, there were also

references to Spicecentice spice and recipe cards, Yorkshire Drizzle flavoured rapeseed oils, Brown Bag hand-cooked potato crisps (bacon is a popular flavour, apparently), Hotties fuel logs, Kontrol Damp Krystals and Apollo Houswares’ mini shopping trolley (which measures a tiny 15x10x13.3cm - the retailer in question describes it as ‘bonkers but fun’). So will any of them feature in the next 12 months? Watch this space… Thank you to everyone who has contributed
