Conex Bänninger strengthens its UK team with two major appointments
World leading manufacturer of fittings and valves, Conex Bänninger is pursuing further growth by appointing two highly experienced Regional Technical Sales Managers in the South East. Together boasting over 50 years of experience, John Curley and Stephen Norgate are primarily looking to get Conex Bänninger products in the hands of merchants, consultants and specifiers, important areas of focus for the brand. As Conex Bänninger make this push towards specification, supplying large
commercial projects like hospitals, schools and office blocks, John and Stephen will bring a wealth of expertise and contacts to the company. John commented: “My new position with the IBP Group is a great fit, the quality of Conex Bänninger products is second to none and the wide range of products provides a great opportunity for me to build the brand across a variety of sectors.”
Stephen Norgate joins Conex Bänninger, having previously held similar positions working at other manufacturers or distributors. Stephen commented: “In my region within five years I would like Conex Bänninger to be the number one choice for merchants, contractors and specifiers alike. As part of our work towards achieving this goal we’re dealing closely with big national distributors, local independent merchants and specification firms. I’m very much looking forward to this, along with the challenges it will bring.” Dan Wild, Business Unit Director UK & Ireland said: “It’s great to have John and Stephen on board, with such a wealth of experience and knowledge of the business sector, we can continue to achieve sustained growth.”

www.conexbanninger.com New faces at Alpha
Alpha Heating Innovation has welcomed three more members to its sales team, with Anne Wraith in the North East, Colin Chappell in the midlands and South Wales and Lee Mumford working in parts of London. Anne brings with her a varied career in the heating and
energy industry. Most recently before Alpha, she worked for a commercial boiler manufacturer, focusing on consultants and specifiers mainly. Prior to this, Anne has worked for energy providers and also has extensive experience with local authorities and social landlords, which she developed during her time at Mark Group. Here, she provided them with cost effective ways to improve the energy efficiency and reduce heating costs for homes, advising them to upgrade the insulation or heating systems among other solutions. She also advised factory and warehouse managers on using renewables, such as solar. Anne commented on her new role, saying: “The variation of the technical sales role is what attracted me to Alpha initially. I liked the idea of working with both merchants and installers, giving me a chance to see both angles. I’ve been really enjoying the job so far.” Colin joined Alpha after another employee had told him about the role. Alpha’s Neil Saunders had

previously worked with Colin while he was at City Plumbing and being familiar with the products, he was keen to apply. Prior to this, Colin sold plumbing tools through merchants while at Dickie Dyer, where he worked for four years. Colin brings with him over 18 years of experience in various industries worldwide, primarily selling technical instruments and pressure metres. Colin added: “I really like that Alpha has a family owned quality to its business. Even though it’s a
well-known brand, it feels like a supportive environment and I was keen to be a part of a company with this type of culture.” Finally, Lee has joined Alpha, bringing with him experience of working with both boiler manufacturers and plumber’s merchants. Most recently, Lee worked in a similar role as a sales manager for a manufacturer of both commercial and domestic boilers. Before this, Lee had been working for Plumbase since the age of 15, working his way up to Branch Manager over the years. Since then, he has managed branches in Croydon and Stockwell. Lee commented: “I wanted to work for Alpha because I’d heard about the new boiler it was bringing to the market. The E-Tec is the smallest combi in the range and yet it still provides exceptional hot water outputs. I had also heard good things about the company from installers and other Alpha employees so I’m very happy to have now joined the team myself!”
