Safer homes and a greener future

W

ith Housing Associations managing around three million homes around the country, they are key to managing safety but can also lead the way in decarbonising heating.

It means there are many challenges the sector must overcome, but also some opportunities. Our focus on Social Housing this month examines some of these. On Pg 18, Swift Fire Compliance addresses the critical issue of fire dampers, and why they must be a priority for social landlords. On Pg 19, Showersave suggests Waste Water Heat Recovery as a

significant opportunity for Housing Associations to help tenants cope with energy bills. On Pg 20, Passiv argues the case for monitoring to make the heat

pump roll out in social housing a success. Other features this month include: Training; Renewables; Pipes,

Valves & Fittings; and Water Treatment. Finally, with the entry stage completed for the 2026 HVR Awards, judging and voting will begin shortly. Ticket are now for sale for the event to be held on October 1 at the Riverbank Park Plaza, so don’t waste time in securing your place. See the details opposite.
