Free heat pump training at Jaga
Jaga has teamed up with Train the Trade to provide high quality training at its Ledbury HQ. Jaga is a pioneer in the development and manufacture of heat pump radiators that provide cooling and heating. Designed with a cradle-to-cradle approach, using less material and more technology, they’re the perfect heat pump partner.
T
he £15B Warm Homes Plan supports a radical move away from fossil fuels and a shift in the way we heat our homes.
The Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) incentivises homeowners to replace gas or oil-fired boilers with heat pumps, while the Future Homes Standard (FHS) does not permit fossil fuel boilers for residential new build properties, again focusing on heat pumps. The challenge now facing the UK is the heat pump installer network. It is estimated that we have circa. 30,000 individuals who have
completed heat pump training, but to meet the Warm Homes Plan of 450,000 heat pump installations per year by 2030 and beyond, this number will need to be tripled. Train the Trade has built an outstanding
reputation for delivering industry-leading training courses from its base in Essex. Jaga is based in Ledbury, Herefordshire with good links to the motorway network, thus offering those customers in the northern and central regions another optional location. Two of the courses at Kriekels House are
fully funded under the Warm Homes Plan, so effectively free to installers. The first is RQF Level 3 Air Source Heat Pump Training, the second is Low Temperature Heating and Hot Water Systems in Dwellings. The other two courses are Water Regulations and Hot Water Systems G3 Unvented. Kriekels House is Jaga’s purpose-built, sustainable facility providing office space, warehousing, a showroom and an approved training area. It is built to the highest standards of energy efficiency and features both ground source and air source heat pumps, solar panels, mechanical ventilation heat recovery (MVHR) and brise soleil. It also features working displays of Jaga’s smart radiators and fan convectors that help designers comply with Approved Document O (Overheating) and Approved Document L (Conservation of Fuel and Power).
