The power of electric
RadiWarm manufactures a range of pipeless water-filled electric radiators. Here HVR delves a little deeper into this company with Gary Jones, chief executive of Heights UK, owner of the RadiWarm brand of radiators
Who is RadiWarm?
RadiWarm’s pipeless water-filled electric radiators provide a comfortable radiated heat. They are an ideal and cost-effective heating solution where extending a gas central heating system is impractical or too expensive. We believe they are the only product that is a direct equivalent to a gas system. The range was launched about 15 years ago and are installed in both domestic and commercial settings. Our biggest market is the UK though we also export successfully to Republic of Ireland, France, Spain and New Zealand.
In the UK, our radiators are often used in building extensions, loft conversions and conservatories. Our Safe Touch radiator, with a protective low- temperature cover to prevent burns or scalds, is ideal for care homes, hospitals, schools or in the home – wherever safety is paramount.
Describe your range of products?
We manufacture a range of water-filled pipeless electric radiators for a wide range of customers: installers and end-users in domestic and commercial settings. The radiators are easy to install on wall brackets and plug into a standard electricity socket. RadiWarm radiators arrive ready for use, filled with specially treated water and fully sealed. They don’t require plumbing, flushing, bleeding or topping-up. The patented built-in boiler, pump, thermostat and software are highly energy efficient and generate the same heat quality as a gas central heating system. The radiators can be connected to smart control systems like RadiWarm’s Smart Controller to manage heating remotely through an app on a smartphone, tablet or laptop. Wide range : The standard RadiWarm
range is available in heights of 300mm (ideal for conservatories) plus 400mm and 600mm. There are seven different lengths. The Safe Touch option is

700mm high and available in five different lengths. So there is a suitable radiator for almost all rooms. Entry-level option : In 2019 we added an entry level model called RadiWarm Economy+ for £199. It is silica filled, wall-mounted and is also a plug-and-play solution. Each radiator is individually controlled. They are LOT 20 efficiency standard compliant.
Which products are in demand?
The Soft Touch option is in high demand for care settings. But since the government announced that no new buildings may be fitted with a gas boiler after 2025, we have found demand increasing for our radiators in many other domestic and commercial settings, in local authority housing and in the holiday cottages and lodges section. There are additional reasons why the holiday rental sector chooses RadiWarm products: the app can remotely turn heating up or down and the fact that our radiators are almost maintenance-free is attractive to people who own and run holiday accommodation.
What challenges do you face?
The main challenge is that our products are not as well-known as we would like in the commercial sector. We want to expand into the multi-let building environment, where a house or building is being divided up into several units. Our radiators are ideal for a building that is evolving because they can be added to or moved from internal walls as required.
What are your future plans?
The political climate is positive for us as we all need to reduce our carbon footprint and heating is no exception. The radiators’ internal software is very effective, maximising efficiency to minimise energy consumption. So we have a big role to play to educate our users how to get the best from their radiators. With the proprietary Smart Controller app, heating can be zoned, programmed and operated from almost anywhere to make sure heating is not wasted when people have busy on- the-go lifestyles.
