NEWS | Industry Updates 9oz vending cup completes range

4 Aces has launched a 9oz vending version of its compostable, PLA hot cup, adding to the 7oz, 8oz and 12oz vending cups already available in the disposable cup supplier’s environmentally-friendly Planet range. Created to fill a gap in the vending market, the

packaging manufacturer’s 9oz cup carries the seedling logo and complies to EU certification for compostable packaging, like the other cups in the range. This means it will disintegrate in the correct industrial facilities for disposal within 12 weeks. David Blake, sales director of 4 Aces, said:

“Producing a 9oz version of this cup means that we are providing our loyal customers with a degree of flexibility when it comes to choice and, hopefully, attracting new business from those who will struggle to find a good supplier who can provide any type of similar quality, eco-friendly cup at this size. “There’s an over-whelming public interest in green disposable products at the moment and all of our customers are keen to be led by the consumer, to deliver the most ethical option and do their bit for the environment.” PLA is made from plant-based materials which means PLA cups contain natural resources that can constantly be renewed. This means it’s likely cups made from this substance are a viable alternative going forward.

Abbeychart’s new chiller unit refurb service saves time and money

Abbeychart, the liquid dispense specialst, is offering a new chiller unit refurb service for vending operators looking to protect revenue streams and the lifespan of a key asset by maintaining essential equipment. As part of the service Abbeychart will inspect the mechanics

and moving parts to identify any issues with the unit prior to starting work on the refurb. Worn and faulty components are replaced with new and the internal components and external body of the unit are deep cleaned. After a re-gas the unit is tested to OEM factory standard and dispatched to the customer with a 12-month warranty.

Mark Taylor, managing director of Abbeychart, said: “With a fully kitted in-house workshop facility we

provide a whole range of specialist services that are a realistic alternative to the purchase of costly components and can prolong the lifespan of vital equipment. The chiller unit refurb is just one of the many services we offer. “Even the most robust vending machines take quite a hammering in the field and regular pro-active maintenance pays dividends in terms of avoiding unplanned downtime and subsequent loss of revenue.”
