Record number of visitors to Vendex North

This November, Old Trafford in Manchester was once again the venue for Vendex North which welcomed a record number of visitors keen to see the latest developments in vending and meet with exhibitors and industry colleagues.

Both exhibitors and visitors reported a busier than usual show which meant that the addition of the new Meeting Hub to facilitate meetings away from the bustle of the stands was well used. Show director Phil Reynolds said: “Once again the vending industry showcased an astonishing selection of new machines, technology, products and services. Innovation around the delivery and customisation of vended products is a key factor in an industry that is being driven by customers with high expectations from their experiences in the high street café sector.” Highlights of the show included digital advertising technology

that delivers customised content according to facial recognition, apps to facilitate payment, ordering and customisation, an expansion of CQUIN compliant snacks, cold brew coffee options and intelligent software and hardware to enhance the customer experience and simplify machine management and stock control. Exhibitors said they were pleased with the increased footfall and

new faces amongst the visitors. Mark Taylor, managing director of Abbeychart said: “Vendex is

always a great show. It’s an excellent opportunity to connect with colleagues in the industry and the atmosphere as always was upbeat. Maybe because it’s a one-day show, visitors were focused, and the atmosphere was conducive to doing business which is obviously the reason we are all there.” “We were delighted with the response to our chiller unit refurb

offer which generated a lot of interest from those unfamiliar with the range of Abbeychart workshop services. We had a refurbished unit on the stand and visitors were impressed with the quality of the work which is fully factory tested and comes with a 12-month warranty as standard.”

Nick Norris, Suzohapp vending sales manager for the UK and

Ireland said: “We were very pleased with the show. Visitors ranged from local operators to representatives from multinational companies. As a leading company in the world of cash and cashless payment technology, we were able to answer a lot of questions from our stand visitors, often concerning cashless.” Suzohapp provides cashless solutions both for private applications (for example vending in factories) with the WorldKey solution and for open cashless (for the general public) with the P6 series.

Suzohapp’s Currenza C2 coin recycler was also on display, being

well known in the industry while the NV9 was on display for note handling. Westomatic marketing manager Daniel Tanner said: “Westomatic

has enjoyed a spectacular Vendex this November. We had the biggest stand at the show and it was busy all day long. All nine of us on the stand were busy speaking to visitors constantly. The interest in our new Elevate bottle machine was staggering, with our engineer Mark Lane barely moving from the spot for six hours whilst demonstrating its features. As we are now used to, everyone enjoyed a coffee or a milkshake from our Primo and Sigma Touch machines and complimented the drink quality of both. “As always, we are working on upcoming projects, which we will

be excited to tell you all about at the next Vendex in 2019.” Business development manager for Kwikpay, Ansell Harrison, said:

“The exhibition was well attended as usual with a broad mix of visitors from a wide range of sectors, but of course mainly from the vending and catering sectors. “Visitors to the Kwikpay stand included caterer, vending operators
