Stimulating the
Senses of Sound & Vision L
et’s start with some interesting facts about worldwide market share of TVs
deemed from the Consumer Electronics Association [CEA], organisers of the CES in Las Vegas. As of 2023/24, Samsung Electronics held 31.2% with LG Electronics at 16.2%. Whilst more of a newcomer into the UK marketplace, TCL has 10.2%.
Followed by Hisense having 9.5%,
Sony 5.7% and all others sharing the remaining 39%. Obviously, every country has a different split of brand popularity, hence, the likes of Panasonic may follow Sony preceding TVs ‘badged’ with recognisable brand names. The rapid development of products has given us amazing insights to stimulate our senses.
With 8K still in the wings, we are still
astounded with the UHD 4K quality as the manufacturers continue to enhance the ultimate of picture image. Along with the versatility of Smart TV we must not forget the high fidelity of the audio signal which accompanies each broadcast signal, whether terrestrial, satellite, streaming or connected device. Alas, as with all TVs, especially now with
current ultra-thin profiles, space for high performance speakers is limited.
