Xpelair celebrates achieving the

Passivhaus Standard The Passivhaus Institute has awarded Xpelair’s innovative Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) unit, Natural Air 180, the Passivhaus Standard,

demonstrating its ability to drastically improve the energy performance

and indoor air quality of a building. The recognition is particularly crucial in the UK with the government committing to reducing carbon emissions of 80 per cent by 2050. With more emphasis being placed on housebuilders to achieve the standard, homes and buildings are becoming far more airtight, resulting in less natural ventilation and a higher build-up of indoor air pollutants. Xpelair’s Natural Air 180 unit has been designed to address this.

Natural Air 180 provides an efficient and flexible approach to whole house ventilation. The unit has been designed for consistent performance and flexibility. From NOX filtration for optimised safety to PIR sensor activity for enhanced efficiency and cold-climate pre-heating, each unit can be customised using Xpelair’s extensive range of ancillaries. Natural Air 180 also features Xpelair’s Ghost

Air Movement technology to deliver near-silent running. It also features Xpelair's Intelligent Adaptiflow Sensing for Assured Installed Performance through constant volume technology, and an active humidistat, which will boost the unit when there is a rapid increase in humidity. The system is just 552 x 609 x 285mm

(WxHxD) and has a two-year warranty. uwww.xpelair.co.uk

A new emergency key switch module is now offered as part of Scolmore’s comprehensive GridPro collection, offering contractors the opportunity to source the product from the same range to comply with the BS5266-1 emergency lighting code of practice. The standard states that each

Emergency key switch module added to Scolmore’s Grid Pro range Launched in June 2017, Scolmore’s

emergency lighting system should have suitable means of simulating failure of the normal supply, for the purposes of testing. To test the emergency lights, the emergency test switch needs to be operated with the key switch (or secret switch as it is also known). Once the lights have been checked to ensure they are operating correctly in the emergency mode, the secret key is used to return the lights to normal operating mode.

GridPro collection is an extensive range of interchangeable mounting plates and modules available in the most comprehensive choice of finishes, to offer the ultimate in flexible, modular grid solutions. GridPro was developed with speed and ease of installation at its core and offers the flexibility to create multi-function, 1 to 24 gang plates which integrate with Scolmore’s vast Click wiring accessories range.
