REVIEW ‘A great show B

uyers flocked to Harrogate Fashion Week (HFW) this August to see the latest fashion, footwear and accessories collections for 2025. The sold out event had 250 brands showing, which is a 30 per cent increase on last Summer, and a 12 per cent increase in the stand space take-up, which has firmly cemented the show’s position as the leading fashion trade show in the UK.

Held at the Harrogate Convention Centre since 2018, buyers arriving in the town were delighted to see how much the show has grown, organisers said, with four halls showing womenswear, footwear and accessories. Not only that, Harrogate has become known for its friendly welcoming atmosphere, which both brands and buyers love every time they visit. Some of the best names in womenswear fashion returned this Summer including the Godske Group, Carol C Collections, Dolcezza, Pomodoro, Alice Collins, Vilagallo and Rino & Pelle. Joining them for the first time, amongst others, were InWear, Coster Copenhagen, Lighthouse, b.young, Barbara Lebek, fransa and Numph. Footwear exhibitors included regular brands XTI, Alpe, Bagatt, Carmela, Lotus and Lunar. With a number of brands joining for the first time – Tamaris, Verbenas, Hogl, Marco Tozzi and

Macarena. They were all showing all types of footwear – from boots to sandals. HFW has the largest collection of occasion- wear from brands such as Veromia, Linea Rafaelli, John Charles, Lizabella, Carla Ruiz, Gabriela Sanchez, and Richard Designs to name a few.

Organisers Wendy Adams and Sarah Moody were thrilled with the success of the show; they said that they were overwhelmed with the support and great accolades received from exhibitors and buyers.

“Footfall exceeded our expectations,” they said, “with a 14 per cent increase in shops and the exhibitors were reporting good orders right from the first day.”

Attendees also shared their thoughts, including Marianne McKenna from La Crème Boutique. She said: “I bought all my occasion- wear on Sunday, which gives me Monday and Tuesday to concentrate on casualwear, footwear and accessories. It’s great. I can do all my buying at one show and search for new labels. The show has a great layout with real quality brands.”

Rosie Hooton of Cordings added: “What a brilliant vibrant show! I love coming to HFW as it saves me going overseas to do my buying. I have found a new shoe company that is going to develop a private label shoe for us, also an exciting new knitwear collection! It’s a great show for new discoveries!”

 The dates have been announced for the next show season. HFW will return on 2-4 February 2025.
