LSS REVIEW

London Shoe Show, Tara Hotel, Kensington, London - March 5th – 6th March 2017. W

ith 21 exhibitors showing 52 brands in the same building in March, the London Shoe Show has grown into an important event for independent

footwear retailers and boutiques alike. The venue benefits from a convenient location, London’s CopthorneTara Hotel, a five minute walk from Kensington High Street Underground Station. The timing of the London Shoe Show, which is held at the end of the

buying season, allows buyers the opportunity to make their final orders in a relaxed environment. The proximity of exhibitors makes product comparison simpler, an important consideration for the footwear retailers I met up with at the event. As were the onsite parking and refreshments, including coffee, tea and biscuits, which are provided free of charge throughout the day. The outstanding variety and quality of footwear on offer cannot fail to impress. On the day that the team from Footwear Today Magazine visited the

to Footwear Today ‘This year’s Tara show welcomed buyers over two days with longer opening hours, which I am pleased to say did not impact on buying opportunities for those who attended the show. “Exhibitors reported a positive response to new collections despite the

challenging retail environment we face. The show continues to be a hit with buyers and exhibitors alike with new

brands enquiring early about attending our September event” To keep up-to-date you can go to: www.londonshoeshow.co.uk

What the exhibitors had to say about the London Shoe Show

The show was great, much better for being 2 days not 3, there was a real buzz in the room and it was nice to see that everyone was busy writing orders. I saw approximately 40% more customers than AW16 although volumes were down slightly. Customers were being cautious with their budgets but brave with product selection. The feeling being that they need a point of difference from the high street to stand out. The Unisa collection reflected this attitude with over 70% of the range being completely new product. We had particular success with our casual boots and trend pieces such as the flat-forms and block heeled points. Anything in metallic or velvet was popular with grey, navy and garnet being the strong colours. Sam, Unisa.

“The London Shoe Show continues to go from strength to strength, it’s a destination footwear show for buyers to finalise their orders and for new customers to buy in a relaxed environment.

The Cara brand continues to grow delivering premium product specification at mid market prices. Caroline Sheppard, Cara.

“Once again the London Shoe Show was a great success, 2 very busy days. Customers love the informal relaxed atmosphere of the show and the venue is great. Well done to Justin for organising another fabulous event”. Graham Davies, Cefalu.

“Regarding the show, I can say that the LSS is a steady show as far as throughput of visitors is concerned. We were satisfied because we were able to confirm orders with our customers and meet new ones”. Marco Beltrami, Aigle at Rucoline.

The next London Shoe Show will be held at the Copthorne Tara hotel in Kensington on 17th - 18th September 2017.

show, the aisles were busy with customers and the agents were doing business on the stands. In fact, I would go so far as to say it was probably the best attended LSS we’ve attended thus far. London Shoe Show organiser, footwear agent Justin Morgan, commented
