John Banks Big & Tall Menswear is a family run business that was established in 1964. Specializing in Large & Wide footwear and Big & Tall men’s Clothing. As a business we have a fantastic trading history. Supplier/retailer relationships are the back bone to any successful business as you are only as good as your supplier. Never more so than with UKD with whom we have been trading with for over 20 years. Our store is located in a suburb of Birmingham called Stockland
What made you buy this brand? Initially Extra wide and Extra-large fitting attracted us to this brand, the competition in this area is very small and others took advantage of this and charged a premium. Not UKD they charged a fair price for a unique shoe filling a gap in the market. We have not looked back adding new styles when they are available.
How did you find out about the brand? Mike Barton the sales manager is very proactive and knows our business very well and always highlights styles that would add value to our business.
Which features of the brand do you like and why? The shoes use good quality leathers, Lightweight, flexible soles, Price, Presentation and stock backed.
How does the brand compare with other brands? The Roamers brand is as good as the more expensive brands, in some cases better. Happy feet = happy customers.

Please tell about the service you receive from your supplier? UKD provides an amazing service and puts other suppliers to shame. They invested in a great on-line B2B website and the stock holding is just awesome for a small business like ours. Deliveries! Well, Frazer has been our delivery driver for years. He never changes he does a great job.

Green, not what you would call a shopping centre, but our store is a destination store. People will think nothing travelling over 30-40miles to get to us as they know they will get what they want. Our customers’ demographic is 16-90 with the majority falling in the 30-50 bracket. We have a fantastic loyal customer base who have supported us for years. They love coming back as we are like a big family and they feel very comfortable seeing a familiar face for advice etc.
Which Styles have worked best? The extra wide range and those available up to size 14 work the best for us.
Is the brand one of your best sellers? Roamers is number 2 in brand performance for us as a business
