integrators move away from low performance systems to the capability of industrial PCs with the aim of improving efficiency, quantity output and ultimately lowering production costs using products that can perform in hostile environments. According to IHS Markit, “global industrial PC market is to grow at a CAGR of 10.26 per cent during the period 2016-2020”. With automation organisations seeking

ith its visualisation solution PASvisu, Pilz is committed to a particularly close

relationship between control and visualisation system. The more the tool is rooted in the plant or machine, the more information the system can give and receive from the user. This provides benefits from engineering through to operation and maintenance: error sources and work time are reduced as a result. With the latest version there is a new alarm

management function, plus an OPC UA interface for connection to small controllers. For users of the configurable small controllers PNOZmulti, PASvisu now also allows a direct connection. As a result, the visualisation includes the full function range of the controller software, including the diagnostic option. Thanks to the OPC UA interface, PASvisu can be connected to all common controllers on the

market. This means that all the controllers’ variables can be transferred automatically to PASvisu. There's an even simpler, higher- performance connection to Pilz controllers: following on from Pilz PLC controllers, PASvisu can now also be linked directly to the configurable small controllers PNOZmulti. More functions are available as a result: including the transfer of all inputs and outputs from the hardware components controlled via PNOZmulti. Thanks to the direct connection, the convenient diagnostic option of PASvisu is also available for safety functions. Downtimes are reduced thanks to faster diagnostics. One of the additional new functions of PASvisu

is alarm management. Alarms can be created and acknowledged; it is possible to create a list of active alarms and a log of cleared alarms and export these as a csv file. A tile for the active

alarm status is available for visualisation, along with an alarm banner. A filter function in the PASvisu runtime and online language switching for all alarms complete the range of functions.
