he "intrinsic safety" method is one of the most common techniques used for achieving safety protection with lower voltage or power equipment. This method restricts the available electrical and thermal energy in a system so that ignition of a hazardous atmosphere (such as explosive gas, dust, or electrical arcing) cannot occur. The UMT-H's high breaking capacity of 1500 A, plus the >10 mm spacing between end caps, combined with the ability to be impermeable to conformal coating makes the fuse suitable for use in such intrinsically safe applications.

The UMT-H fuse is available in a total of 24 rated currents between 160 mA and 30 A at voltages up to 277 VAC and 250 VDC. The UMT-H measures at 5.3 x 16 mm, which is a smaller alternative to the classic cylindrically-shaped cartridge fuses (e.g. 5 x 20 mm or 6.3 x 32 mm). The smaller footprint saves valuable board space, allowing for further downsizing of equipment. With its square design, the UMT- H is also suited for more cost-effective, automated assembly. The high breaking capacity fuse meets the IEC 60127-7/1, UL 248-14 and CSA C22.2 standards along with its VDE and UL approvals. Additional applications include power supplies, electromobility, medical and telecommunication applications as well as 277 VAC utility-connected equipment.

mphenol Industrial Products Group now offers a medium amperage connection system that is rated to up to 70 A of continuous current. The ePower-Lite has an operating voltage of 800 VDC. Designed for the hybrid and electric vehicle markets, these connectors feature a lightweight plastic shell and compact design to provide both weight and space savings
in vehicle architecture. The ePower-Lite features 2-way, 3-way and 4-way systems with optional HVIL and EMI shielding for safety and performance. Amphenol’s ePower-Lite connector series is built to meet the demanding needs of medium voltage and medium amperage applications. It incorporates 3.6mm terminals with Amphenol’s patented RADSOK technology to achieve higher current ratings, lower insertion forces and lower temperature rise and contact resistance. Due to the low insertion force, no mechanical assist is required. These touch-proof connectors are RoHS compliant and can be used for charging, for accessory power or anywhere a sealed medium power connector is required. The ePower- Lite can be mated a minimum of 100 times. This connector series has a UL 94V-0 flammability rating, an IP67 rating and an operating temperature range from -40°C to 125°C.

ETCASE has extended its COMBIMET 19” rack mount enclosures range with new 4U and 6U standard sizes in addition to the existing
1U, 2U and 3U models. COMBIMET’s winning combination of quality, features and value has quickly made it METCASE’s most popular range of 19” rack cases.
The range conforms to DIN 41494 and IEC 297-1
standards for 19” equipment. Cases are available with vented or unvented top and base panels which are also removable for full access to components. The 19” front panel is fixed – making COMBIMET more cost effective.
The base panel includes holes for PCB mounting pillars or the internal mounting plate kit (accessory). The rear panel is recessed. Ergonomic handles make it easy to remove each case from the rack and reinstall it. Standard colours are Light Grey or Black for the case body and handles. The front panel is clear anodised.
