Complete fire ducting protection range by Domus Ventilation

ventilation systems that save energy and improve indoor air quality, has added new products to its Fire Sleeves and Fire Collars range. With the new products, Domus Ventilation ensures a complete range of Building Regulations compliant fire protection for Domus ducting. Fire Sleeves and Fire collars are used to

D

prevent the spread of fire where ventilation ducting penetrates fire compartment walls, as required by Building Regulations. To achieve this, Domus Fire Collars and Sleeves are made using a flexible galvanised steel shell containing graphite based intumescent material to ensure impressive fire ratings and have been tested to BSEN 13663: 2009. The new Fire Sleeves are designed to fit the smallest Domus duct (round 100mm/ rectangular 110 X 54mm) and provide a 120 minutes fire rating. The new Fire Collars launched fit the smallest and largest round ducting (100mm or 150mm) with a fire rating of 60 to 240 minutes respectively. Domus Fire Sleeves are designed for both

rectangular and round vertical and horizontal ducting and their slimline profile saves ceiling space. They are suitable for masonry walls or plasterboard partitions as well as insulated or noninsulated partitions. Domus Fire Collars are specifically for round, vertical ducting and provide a fire rating of up to four hours. The new Fire Sleeves and Fire Collars, which have been added to complete Domus Ventilation’s fire protection range, are easy to install without the help of any special

tools, skills or mechanical fixings. They can be easily retrofitted where required and their robust material ensures that their performance remains unaffected by weathering, enabling them to last the lifetime of the building. In addition to rigid ducting fire

protection, Domus Ventilation’s RDFS75 semiRigid Duct FireStopping Sleeve is available for the Domus Radial Duct System. Unlike traditional branch style ducting, Domus Radial uses 75mm semi rigid duct to connect directly from each room vent to a central distribution system, negating the need for various duct bends and connectors. This system benefits from less air leakage and improved air flow, which also makes for easier commissioning and a quieter system, as well as it being quicker to install than traditional branch ducting. Following these latest additions, Domus

Ventilation now offers fire solutions for 75mm, 100mm, 125mm, 150mm, 110x54mm, 204x60mm and 220x90mm ducting. For further information please contact

emphasis now on flexibility and ease of installation, many building design projects are focusing on products and services that can adapt to changing legislation, energy efficiency and the ever changing needs of the client. Scolmore’s Flow Connector range makes the wiring

of a lighting circuit easy, using a combination of connectors, hubs and management boxes. The unique design of the Flow Connector products prevents the possibility of incorrect polarity connection, which is a problem with other similar products that are making their way into the market. The Flow Lighting Management System is designed

specifically to help contractors create more complex lighting installations quickly, easily and safely. It features a number of products that allow the quick connection, configuration and reconfiguration of circuits, using a simple ‘plug and play’ concept. Builtin selectable configurations will save significant time in the planning and fitting stages of a project, leading to reduced labour requirements and resulting in cost savings. Changeable switch modes mean that if an installation’s requirements should change, it can be easily altered to suit. The Flow range currently comprises 22 different

products including two lighting management boxes and mounting tray, a variety of 3pole and 4pole Flow Connectors, extension cables, Flow Connectors with Link Cables (prewired), plus a ceiling rose and cover. A brochure covering the whole Flow range can be downloaded from the Scolmore website www.scolmore.com. For further details email sales@scolmore.com call

installers must have attended one VRF installation and service course in person. To qualify for all versions of Toshiba’s seven year warranty, installers are required to have completed all of the following courses, either in person or online: uToshiba Digital Inverter and SuperDigital Inverter/Residential Installation and Servicing; uToshiba VRF Installation and Servicing; uToshiba VRFe Installation and Servicing; uToshiba Controls. The courses, which also offer downloadable

as well as key technology topics, such as compressors and related components. David Dunn, Managing Director Sales at

Toshiba Carrier UK, said: “We have had great takeup of our classroombased training courses, with many thousands of engineers attending over the past three years. However, we are aware that some customers find it difficult to commit a fullday to attend courses in person. The new online training portal gives them the flexibility to learn at a time, place and pace to suit them. We believe it will be a popular addition, and help our drive to update the skills of air conditioning installers across the country.” The training portal can be accessed here:
