he first major exhibition in the igus 2019 calendar is Southern Manufacturing & Electronics. Running from 5th to 7th February at FIVE in Farnborough, this exhibition signifies the first opportunity for engineers to get out of the design lab since Christmas. To gently acclimatise them, all visitors to the igus stand

T

(G165) will be served orange juice and chocolate. They will also have the opportunity to meet the latest addition to the company’s low-cost automation offering, the drylin delta robot. Delivered as a kit or full-assembled ready to install, the drylin delta is a cost-effective alternative to similar robots available on the market. The typical ROI period for the drylin delta robot is estimated at just six months, this compares favourably to the industry’s rule-of-thumb target of two years. Made completely from well-known igus products, the

drylin delta is based on three maintenance-free drylin ZLW toothed belt axes, lubrication-free igubal link rods and matching adapter plates. NEMA stepper motors and encoders ensure fast handling of up to 1 kg with a precision of ±0.5 mm. The complete system has an installation space of up to 420 mm in diameter and can carry up to 5 kg at lower speeds. The pick rate is at least 60 per minute, however this can be much greater, depending on setup. Members of the igus team will be available on the stand G165 to answer any questions they have on the new drylin delta robots as well as all the other low-cost automation systems that are on display. For more information please visit: www.igus.co.uk/delta To arrange an appointment, please email Hannah Durrant hdurrant@igus.co.uk or call igus directly on: 01604 677240.
