Renovotec, one of the UK’s fastest growing independent rugged hardware, software and services providers for logistics, manufacturing and retail, is launching a specialist managed print service (MPS) for rugged hardware, supply chain environments, to include cloud, rental and fully outsourced options. ‘Honeywell managed print’ is the first Renovotec rugged MPS to launch publicly, at IntraLogisteX 2018. The move follows the company’s recent acquisition of rugged services and support company Datatrade, an MPS specialist. This makes Renovotec the UK’s largest independent rugged hardware and maintenance organisation according to the company. Commenting, Renovotec managing director, Richard
Gilliard, says: “There is industry demand for a managed print service that specialises in rugged supply chain environments. Industry experience suggests that 75 per cent of businesses are unaware of their print costs, which for supply chain users can account for up to 20 per cent of their organisation’s total expenditure. Red Ledge launches ‘RedRail’ sorter

Advanced manufacturing and logistics control specialist, Red Ledge, and materials handling specialist, Stockrail International, are co-launching ‘Red Ledge RedRail’, a simple but innovative Excel spreadsheet-driven box sorter that is the first of its kind and one third the price of an average sortation system, says Red Ledge. Red Ledge RedRail is available in one- through to 12- gate versions and sorts most items that can be scanned including trays and tote boxes, from 200mm up to 780mm, at a rate of 500 to 1,000 boxes an hour depending on size. The system is driven by a standard Excel spreadsheet that issues sortation instructions, controls the sorting process and reports results once sortation is complete. Logistics processes controlled by the system include goods in and verification, cross-docking and goods out, where boxes are sorted by (say) courier or route.
