New Emergency Light Test Switch from ESP

SP’s Duceri range of emergency lighting products has been expanded to include two new emergency light test

switches. Designed to test batteries, lamps and duration function of emergency lighting luminaires in accordance with current emergency lighting standard BS5266, the new products will help building owners and responsible persons to maintain compliance. These automatic, key-operated emergency lighting test

switches are permanently wired to the emergency luminaire supply. The key switch is used to interrupt the supply for a pre-programmed period of time. At the end of that period, the supply to the luminaries is automatically reinstated, so there’s no risk of depleting the batteries in the emergency fitting by leaving them connected for prolonged periods. There are two models to choose from - standard LED

display or countdown digital display. They each feature four pre-programmed test intervals – 10 minutes, 30 minutes, 60 minutes and 180 minutes. There is the option for an audio buzzer alert for completion of duration test

n addition to the range of SPDs in Type 2 and Combined Type 1,2 & 3, Lewden has introduced a new Retrofit Surge Protection Unit that meets with the requirements

of the 18th edition regulations BS7671:2018 section 534. This easy to install, self- contained metal enclosure connects in parallel to the existing consumer unit without any need for modification to the unit and has been designed for retro- fitting application to provide protection of electrical appliances against impulse surges where it is not possible to accommodate an SPD directly within the existing consumer unit due to space limitation. It is primarily suited to installations located in an urban area without an external lightning protection system and fed from an underground power source. Suitable for TN-C-S (PME), TN-S, and TT earthing arrangements, this unit incorporates a Type 2 SPD, offering protection against switching transients and the secondary effects of an indirect lightning strike.
