Whitegates · West Derby, Huyton & Prescot Office junior to three-branch owner, within one brand


"I became the brand's first Senior Manager to acquire a franchise. That was just the beginning."


Gail Roberts joined Whitegates as an office junior. Thirty-six years later she runs three branches, leads a team of 17 and mentors seven apprentices, including Joshua Cunliffe, who started with her six years ago and now manages the Prescot office. Two branches are market leaders in their areas. A third opened as a cold start in May 2025.

Nik Davey spent two decades on major construction projects for Kier, EDF and Balfour Beatty. When the business he ran with his father collapsed in 2014 after a contractor withheld payments, he vowed to build something of his own. In April 2024, Nik and his wife Rosie, a teacher, became franchisees for Martin & Co Exeter. Local knowledge, landlord experience and the TPFG support network did the rest.

Paul Ryder started Northwood Eastbourne in 2007 fresh from a corporate sales career, always planning to grow through acquisition. His fifth deal completed in August 2025, absorbing Martin & Co Eastbourne, adding 130 managed properties and bringing his team to nine. TPFG's Acquisitions team supported every step.
