lobal mobility teams are often at the forefront of managing crisis. Whether it is a pandemic, natural disaster or conflict, how teams work together and their impact on individuals
is a measure of the sector’s vital importance to global businesses today, its professionalism and people focus. Recognising this critical aspect of global mobility –
and the local knowledge, leadership and passion that define the highest achievers in this particular category – the judging panel awarded the local DSP award to Ocean Relocation. This was for how the team pulled together to manage
the safe evacuation of 50 relocatees from Israel during the severe security threat prompted by the events of 7 October 2023. The relationship Ocean had built with its client, relocation management company partner and between individual team members meant there was absolute trust and excellent communication at a time of a major and fast-moving crisis. The judges acknowledged how Ocean went above
and beyond at an incredibly difficult time in both ensuring the safety of the families, and in managing repatriation of their possessions, negotiating lease

breaks for accommodation and returning hire cars and other property. “Few companies ever have to deal with a crisis like this on their doorstep and Ocean should be commended for the amazing work they have done,” said the judges.
DELIVERING PROCESS WITH PASSION For Daniel Drenger, client services director, his DSP team of five and wider business of 35 people, the award acknowledges the success of the company’s desire to help people move countries in a warm and caring way that supports every family member and their individual needs. Winning this award is also a reflection of how individuals in the Ocean team work well together, and with their clients and suppliers, in a professional, efficient and process-oriented manner, effectively balancing service- level agreements with individually tailored solutions. The solidity of this foundation paid dividends during
the crisis. Working closely with the healthcare sector client and its relocation management company, Aires, Ocean was able to evacuate people safely and be creative and responsive to requests. Rather than limit services and offerings during this critical time, Ocean drew on its knowledge and passion for helping families relocate. Team members made themselves available around the clock and navigated the situation with agility, speed and compassion, and with the clearest levels of communication.
TRUSTED PARTNERSHIPS Ocean’s response exemplifies the importance of local DSPs and their impact on global people’s lives. “We were very lucky collaborating on this with our client and RMC who understood what was needed and gave us free hand to do whatever we needed to do,” said Daniel Drenger. “It was a collaboration of two strategic partners in a very critical moment. “I am extremely proud and grateful that I’m here and
Daniel Drenger, client services director, Ocean Relocation
that the industry recognises our efforts and our expertise. This award means a lot to know that what we do, we do right and it’s good, and that we are at the top level of what we do as professionals as part of such an amazing industry and community that supports each other.”
