Find your future workforce at college open event
Businesses can discover their future workforce while showcasing their credentials as an employer at an open event being held by Northampton College. With spring always a pivotal moment for future student
recruitment, the college has arranged a series of open events throughout February and March to attract students looking to decide their next steps. Booth Lane and Lower Mounts campuses will be opening
their doors on Tuesday, February 10 and Saturday, March 7, while Daventry will be staging an open event on Tuesday, March 10. T e Daventry date will have a dedicated area for local businesses
to have a presence, meeting students and explaining more about the employment opportunities and pathways available – including apprenticeships. Jason Lancaster, principal of Northampton College, said: “Seeing
our facilities in person is the best way to get a taste of college life. Whether you decide to join us for an open event, campus tour or advice session, our staff will be on hand to support you and off er support and information during your visit. “T e Daventry date is a fantastic opportunity for employers to
come along and meet the people who can join them to drive their businesses forward in the future. “By identifying future talent at an early stage, businesses can
embed young people in their workforce through work experience programmes or apprenticeships – giving them a chance to shine and learn your company’s culture.”
Northampton College has exciting plans to develop its
apprenticeship off er in Daventry and build stronger, long-term links with local employers. T e event will see a range of local and regional businesses invited
to enjoy a light lunch and roundtable discussion before the event gets under way. T is Employer Forum will help identify local skills gaps and give employers the chance to work closely with the college to co-design the curriculum. As part of the event, Northampton College will launch a series
of new programmes designed to provide practical, confi dence- building routes into further study or employment. These may include blended pathways that combine diff erent vocational areas with core employability skills. T e college’s partnership with Northampton Saints Foundation
and the Engage programme will also be highlighted, showcasing how young people can get involved. T e open events will give all those attending the chance to
discover how the Northampton College supports students to progress from college to career. Visitors will be able to tour the state- of-the-art facilities, speak to expert teachers and hear from current students about their college experience.
