Terry Braithwaite brought a glittering managerial career toanaptcloselastweek, - as Rimington claimed their fourth-sucessive Craven Cup.
The villagers beat Skipton LMS 4-0 to win the trophy for the 10th time under Braithwaite’s 15-year reign - their 25th piece o f silverware in that time! The villagers started well
and Gary Jackson reached the bye-line only to pull the ball backjust behind GlenDinsdale. But Rimington took the lead

on 12 minutes as Gary Hick- ling’s corner was flicked on by Matt Bagot, and Oli McLean hammered the ball into the roof of the net. Jackson had a number of
chances before Rimington made it 2-0, following a superb weaving run by McLean, as he beat four men before being up- endedjust outside the area. John Paul Fagan’s excellent
free kick was met by Robert Lloyd, and though his power ful header hit the post, Dins- dale was on hand to fire home
to keep up his record of scoring in every Craven Final he has played in. Bagot was denied by the
. keeper just before the break, while at the other end, Graeme Kershaw saved at the feet of a Skipton attacker. in the second half, Jackson
was brought down outside the area by the keeper, who re ceived a yellow card. McLean’s • free kick grazed the post, but the locals didn’t have to wait long for a third goal when McLean fobbed the ball overthe
full back for Bagot, who beat his man and crossed for Jackson to clip in at the near post. Kershawhad to save in a one-
on-one situation, before substi tute Charlie Collinge’s rasping 30-yard was brilliantly tipped onto the bar. Dan Blackburn replaced the
hard-working Jackson, and was rewarded on 80 when he met Hickling’s free kick to head in number four. Ajubilant Rimington team
threw their manager in the air in front of their supporters,
andBraithwaitesaid:“ltwasn’t the best final, but the lads were quality, as they have been for most o f the season. They de serve all the accolades for the ef fort and spirit they have shown, and to win this prestigious tro phy so many times is amazing.” Braithwaite will be hon-
. oured at a special .evening at the Catholic Club in Clitheroe on Friday, Junesth. Tickets are £10, including
